Non-Sony fans tend to really harp on The Last of Us. My guess is because it's such a threat to their console war arguments as it's without a doubt one of the greatest series of all time. Not many games in my lifetime have come close.

Maybe not entirely new mo-cap, but completely redone facial animations. That clip looks significantly better. Far more emotion and completely revamped.

Idk. I thought that initially but then I thought….the original Ellie doesn’t even look like the same person in TLOU2. Developmentally her face wouldn’t have changed from that face to what it was in TLOU2
You can definitely see the drastic changes in lighting, textures, depth of field, motion blur, character models. This would have been more impactful in maybe another 5 or so years on PS6. It’s almost too soon for this but still looks incredible. However I get that this is definitely helping to market the TV show, so it has a purpose for re-release now.

I think we’re all so used to how beautiful last of us 2 looked (still one of the best looking games even compared to games like demon’s souls) that this doesn’t seem like a leap, but side by side with part 1 this is going to be a very big jump.
