Then they risk alienating many of their fans who do prefer physical over digital. I for one will not buy a digital ps5. But 500 for a console is on the very high end for me so I wont be able to make a purchase until it is down to $400 or lower.
I think a 100$ difference is a bit ridiculous if all it misses is a disc drive. Sounds more like a $50 difference to me.

Selling at a loss would be no different than any other console generation so I am not sure that's a counter point.
I'm fairly sure they wouldnt sell at $600 because that was the mistake with the ps3. $600 is a lot to fork over for most people.
Even if the SSD is more powerful than the xbox ssd it wouldnt cause a several hundred dollar difference.

Keep in mind Sony released the ps4 at $400.
I see no reason they may not do the same for the disc version.

well they cant show a next gen title at 120fps with high fidelity...so yea.
120fps support will probably be quite meaningless for actual next gen titles. What im curious about is the actual performance of series s with next gen titles...that is what i would like to see.
Something like Cyberpunk or ...well thats about the only game truly capable of moving into next gen well.
it was built ground up for current gen. Sure hope it runs 60fps at 4k with the massive leap theyre making.

Yeah most of the time you don't even need an upgrade if you already invested in a decent cpu and graphics card.
For next gen I can see myself spending for a new graphics card

Yes that sounds right. I am aware that certain games performed slughtly better on xbox both because of the CPU and resolution generally being lower.
