It was ps3 compatible, data bleed supposedly no issue with the 16 layer prototypes. shouldn't be a problem to make reliable discs now half the capacity for a reasonable price.

I would rather mod or fix the ps4 myself than attach these 3rd party coolers too it. I dont worry to much as the ps4 seem cool and reliable this far. The saves syncs with the cloud and I have an insurance deal for it.
If I get any ps4 specific accessory it'll be a mountable sleek usb hub for more usb ports and easy access as some usb flash drives are to fat to even reach in to the usb ports. I have to attach them via a USB extention cable and its sort silly looking with ...

One would think that instead of reusing and touting it as new (what they did with Ghosts anyway) they would just get a new engine. I mean they are goddamn activision and they cant afford a Cryengine, unreal engine or Frostbite engine lisence?
I think powersuits are cool though but I dont believe this anymore than I believed in the supposed new engine they had last...

I think it mostly boils down to price, demand and execution.
Tomb raider: too much money for an old game that doesnt look all that better on next gen opposed to last gen or pc and includes add on content no one cares about.
TLOU ps4? yeah it has the main game with some added visual bells and whistles and STORY DLC that people actually gives a damn about isnt there one more story dlc piece coming?

I actually had a look over there on a slow news day a few days back and I didn't like it one bit, they changed a lot since I were on it last time.
Not too sure on the gory death thing, I think the death animation with the tail coming through you from behind is brilliant and the ones from trailers before looked terrifying as well.
Seeing the alien up close and DYING all the time might ruin the tension, hopefully they can make the balance just right with this huge predator hunting you down.
In the movies the alien was a stealthy killer and the game would benefit a lot from the fact that the alien might just vanish...
What is not to believe in? some first party PS3 games look quite a lot better than any game on 360 and that is not due to the GPU which is about the same if not a bit weaker than the 360's gpu.

You may have a look at some of these, good gameplay shoots in varying quality but mostly 720p.
Or better yet get a ps3 with some games and plug it up to a decent screen. :)

Remember my brother had the first game for Amiga and that 3D shelter basement level was scary as hell.
No HUD or hidden HUD worked like a charm in a lot of other games, Dead space and also in the Killzone series(it is there but you can turn it all of).
I know KZ isnt a horror game, but KZ2 is the most immersive experience I had last gen. everything was great. visuals and designs, physics, AI, sound, NO HUD and IMO the weighty controls.
Havent played Daylight yet, but it looks really cool.
Dont think the HUD looks very intrusive but if you could turn it...
yeah prolly need some balancing and polish, but they have quite impressive AI otherwise.
It must be possible to not be seen, and novice players will only get bored if they die all the time and the game looses its tension maybe.

PS2 HD games were trash ports. Yeah they run smooth and play the same, but the ps3 is so immensely much more powerful than the ps2. Sony have claimed 40 TIMES MORE CPU POWER. Yet the resolution could not be upped from 480p 4:3 format to 1080p, we had to do with 720p.
Same ugly ass textures as ever just smoothened and sharpened, not really better detail in like 90% of them. Jak games had slightly reworked particles and lighting and Ratchet and clank had cutsce...
PC version of cars looks sharper and at times even photorealistic but it is canny.
Driveclub is a looker too as well and while I think its more a stylised look it is still quite sharp.
DC looks a lot more organic to me and I think from what Ive seen and read its coming down to style and where the focus lies. Cars keep it more to the track but when I see DC I get the notion that there is an entire functioning world moreso than with cars.
