Splatoon is a $60 game...
I cannot express how excited I am for this game!
I understand why some people really want voice chat in Splatoon, but I think that issue alone is a really silly reason to not get the game. If it bothers you that much, you can use Skype. Now, I don't agree with Nintendo's decision to leave voice chat out, but that factor shouldn't hold you back from enjoying a really fun game.
I honestly advise you to give the games another look. I own 20 games for my Wii U, more than any other console I own. I do understand that a lot of the games on the Wii U do not appeal to everyone, but I'm certain that you'll find something that will make the Wii U worth a shot!
People want new IPs and characters, and when Nintendo gives gamers just that, they complain that they're not Mario? Uh...
From what I've seen it, actually has a pretty large and devoted following- and it hasn't even released yet. I'm sure it will do fine.
Although I've never really been a fan of voice chat, I do think it should at least be an option. If I don't want to use it, I can just turn it off. And if they're worried about children's safety, they should place an age restriction on it. Oh, well! Maybe they'll patch it in when they release Ranked Battle. I'm still really hyped for this game!
This comment makes me want the game.
I would love to play as an Inkling!
I voted for Splatoon's Inkling. There's a lot that could be done with that idea!
@BitbyDeath I don't remember being taught how to assault pedestrians in church, but ok.
I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this, but in one of Gamexplain's videos, text prompts do occasionally appear above players, like "Help!"
Of course, it would be really nice to have the OPTION of voice chat (even though some people, like me, wouldn't use it), because I understand that communication can really help in situations like this. Maybe Nintendo tested it and it didn't work very well with such short matches or something.
I ...
May cannot come soon enough! I need this game now!
Have you tried Pikmin 3, Bayonetta, and Smash? They're all amazing.
"Having an extra year of development time for their “next-gen” system, Nintendo was able to steal 2014 as Mario Kart 8 brought home the gold."
Really? Putting quotation marks around next-gen? I thought we were past this.
Puzzle and Dragons: Super Mario Edition is not an iPhone game... It's for the 3DS.
No Zelda, Splatoon, or Xenoblade?
I'm personally most excited for Splatoon.
Merry Christmas, N4G! :)
This is an amazing deal! If I didn't already have a Wii U, I would definitely get this. So stoked for Splatoon!
