What even? That's a horrible idea. They didn't have a good show this year, but because of that, they should give up and stop presenting new games at E3? Are you forgetting last year? Nintendo was AMAZING. If companies stopped showing up after one bad year, there would be NO one at E3.
I'm very disappointed in them this E3, but I'm still a fan. I think they're saving a lot of big titles for the launch of the NX, which would explain why the Direct was so bare. As an early adopter of the Wii U and a longtime supporter of it, this does kind of make me unhappy, but I suppose it's time to move on to something that can make them money.
I guess I see both sides of the argument. I'm still very disappointed in the games they showed, but what Reggie said about Splatoon was spot-on for me. Last year, I basically stopped paying attention when Splatoon was revealed because it looked like a cheap shovelware game. However, over the following weeks, I learned more and more about it and now it's my favorite game that I own. I'm hoping this happens with the games shown this year.
I completely agree. I don't know how Nintendo will respond to this criticism.
I'm a huge Nintendo fan. That's probably really obvious by now. But this... This was a GIGANTIC disappointment.
The only game presented that even somewhat caught my attention was Star Fox- the rest was either small spin-offs (seriously, Animal Crossing? NOBODY asked for this!) or more things we've seen before.
After last year, I was sure they would blow us away once again. Oh, well. I suppose they may be saving some bigger titles for the NX next y...
Really, really disappointing. I was sure the Amiibo were for a brand new main Animal Crossing Wii U game! I haven't heard a single person asking for an Animal Crossing version of Mario Party.
Oh my gosh, that would be AMAZING!! I really hope this happens!
I'm really confident this confirms Animal Crossing Wii U. Happy Home Designer seems to support Amiibo Cards at the moment, and cards make more sense for a portable console anyway. Amiibo figurines really make sense for AC Wii U, and I hope it gets announced Tuesday!
Splatoon is such an amazing game. It's been a while since I've seen a game that's just so FUN for people of all ages and skill levels! This is what happens when Nintendo really tries something totally new, and I love it.
You'll love it!! I put over 12 hours into it the first two days I owned it.
Please!!! Between that and Splatoon, I don't think I'll ever turn my Wii U off.
Absolutely! I've got it preordered and I can't wait to pick it up tomorrow! :)
I support Splatoon because it's actually fun. Have you even played it?
What? You must have very poor vision.
That's not what I said. These challenges exist BECAUSE of Amiibo. Nintendo thought, "what could we add for people who buy Amiibo? How about extra challenges?" If the Wii U didn't support Amiibo functionality, you would not be able to play Hero Mode with different weapons. That's it.
You could say the same thing about any other Amiibo. Stop talking about things you know nothing about.
Why is everyone so salty here? It's fun to list stats. Who knows, K/D ratio may be very important in a future mode.
It's not DLC. Hero Mode is meant to be played with the Splattershot, and scanning in Amiibo just allows you to take on some levels with a different weapon. There's no content "locked away from the user," and if it weren't for Amiibo, you wouldn't be able to access these challenges anyway.
They look amazing, and I think it'll be really fun to try single player levels with different weapons! To me, they're worth it, but I understand some people aren't interested in them.
Nintendo... Please... Even the Japanese and European commercials aren't cringe-worthy.
The general consensus last year was that Nintendo dominated. The only bad E3s from them that I can recall were this one and the Wii Music/Skyward Sword demonstration one (and that's even stretching it).
