I hope most of the rides are actual rides and not just simulators, to be honest. I went to Universal in March and too many of their rides just involved sitting still and being shaken around. I had a lot more fun on the rides that were actually thrilling!
That being said, there's a lot of things Universal can do with Nintendo. I can see a Jurassic Park ride-esque Metroid ride, or a log ride like Splash Mountain/Ripsaw Falls themed after Pikmin. An anti-gravity Mario Kart-t...
I really don't think it needs voice chat, but it definitely would be a nice option for those who really want it.
Did you even play the demo? It should be immediately clear why voice chat isn't necessary. It's sad that so many people WANT this game to fail.
I don't think voice chat is needed. Any info that could possibly be said is available to players at a glance. In the time a teammate could explain where an enemy is, by simply looking at the Gamepad and Super Jumping, I could be there in a matter of seconds. Need backup? No problem- press Up on the D-pad and a signal is sent to all your teammates, and they can immediately jump to you and help you out.
Honestly, people would probably just use voice chat to vent their frust...

No! The past few days, Splatoon has been everywhere! Trending on Twitter, getting coverage on YouTube and major journalism sites, you name it. Almost everyone who has played the demo comes out simply RAVING about it, and it's definitely gained a huge following recently. Nintendo's really pushing it and I know a lot of people buying Wii Us for Splatoon alone, so I really think it can do well.
I'm sure you won't have trouble finding people to play with later on, because Nintendo is going to be adding brand new content weekly! :)

I think capture the flag and an 8-player free-for-all turf war would be great modes to add!
It seems like this Direct has completely renewed a lot of people's interest in Splatoon- and I, for one, am extremely excited! I hope the constant updates are able to keep the game going for as long as possible, and I know I'll definitely be trying out the demo for myself this weekend.
The Tower mode sounds really, really fun! Sort of like VIP with a twist. And my personal theory on Rainmaker is that it will somehow involve that fish creature spraying water onto the battlefield, erasing any Ink that's currently there.

That would be amazing. I don't particularly care about voice chat, but I know some people do, so I hope Nintendo just adds it already to alleviate some bitter people's backlash. I want Splatoon to do really well, because I want the servers to be busy, and I want Nintendo to know there IS demand for this type of game.
That's a crazy price! If that really does translate to $40, that would mean I got a three-pack of Amiibo for cheaper than one in the UK. I have two for Smash and I pre-ordered the Splatoon ones (because they look really cool and I love Splatoon), but I think that'll be all for me. Finding Amiibo is too stressful.

It gives you two free games. I literally do not understand why you're complaining.
I think it's a good deal, because you get the deluxe version of the console (originally $350) along with two games totally free. That's around $170 in savings, at least from when I bought my Wii U. I would like a splattered console design, but I don't see how this isn't a great deal.
Nintendo must be very confident in this game, because they're not hesitating to let the press play as much as they want! I'm so excited for May!
