Seems that if a (hypothetical) great game is £30 then it deserves a high score, but if the exact same game is released at £60 then it doesn't.
Assuming the translation is accurate, they tell us the maps are fun & add freshness and (correctly) say that it's up to the player as to whether they download the maps, but then seem to base the score on the price... "It's price the main enemy".

I think they should save GOW III for next year too. All the thunder should go to UNCHARTED 2 in the run up to Christmas and then Sony will have a HUGE game in the first quarter 2010.

Because the Wii selling well in Japan isn't significant while the PS3 out-selling it (for however short a time) is.
My sister gave me her launch 360 within twelve months of getting it (when she bought a PS3) and I wasn't impressed with it at all back then.
Soon after getting it the damn thing cracked the HALO 3 disc (good job I didn't like the game) and the console died on me. Even though I've (very) occasionally mulled over getting a replacement, I just don't see the point anymore.
My PS3 is on too much of the time anyway...
