It may have a considerable casual audience. For people not interested in games and who just want to try some big budget titles, renting without even having to own the console could seem like a good option.

I don't have a console but if I lived in the US I could see myself renting the service out to finish single-player games like Heavy Rain.

Look at the multiplayer gameplay clip on GameTrailers.

It seems to play exactly like CoD4, complete with noobtubes and the same overpowered weapons so you really don't have to aim so much as spray in the general direction of someone to score a kill. Screw firing off a couple of shots at a time, just hold down the trigger.

Guess everyone's realised that going after the casual gamer who expects to get easy kills with no practice is the path to financial...

The fact there's so many disagrees here shows how much of a fanboy site this is.

This looks terrible, no two ways about it. If you're a 360 fan you should be annoyed at Microsoft for not fixing it, not disagreeing with people who aren't sheep.

Sure you wouldn't exactly plan to walk around with a 360 but imagine you decide to move it and forget the disc is in there. Bam, scratched disc.

Does nobody actually read the article?

It's 23% for Move and 21% for Natal. With +/- error it's a dead heat.

Where do you think word of mouth originates from?

The vast majority of people don't care about game reviews, let alone follow gaming news in the slightest even if they own a console. I'm sure most people are completely unaware of the Infinity Ward fiasco and probably assumed the same people were making it back when it was IW/Treyarch staggering releases. Most people will buy the next game in the series completely oblivious to everything that has happened. Rockstar may...

His intention also seems to be to dwindle the number of franchises down, and milk them for all their worth. Terrible from our point of view for numerous reasons, particularly:

Tacked on content and endless sequels mean a lot of repetition. More DLC campaigns that plays exactly like the original game.

Less franchises means less experimentation. If every game costs considerably more to produce than now, and has a long line of micro transactions riding on it in ...

With titles like that, this site is increasingly resembling an efficient marketing machine to me. Then again that was probably its entire purpose in the first place.

My assumption on the guy shooting himself was that he was remotely killed by someone controlling him to prevent him divulging information, hence the 'help me'. I assumed that Adam was lunging forward to try to save him.

Hard to say. The trailer being incredible has more to do with the fact that Square Enix was responsible for it than anything else.

Second one wasn't terrible by any means, just they somehow managed to change almost everything for the worse (universal ammo, simplified augmentations, stupidly small environments ...) relative to the original. Was still one of the best games of 2003.

I think it's pretty clear that it's designed to prevent circumvention of Battle.net for pirated (or otherwise) multiplayer play.

Most people probably know about Garena and how it entirely circumvents Battle.net through making use of in-game LAN mechanics and obviously allows people to avoid CD key checks. That's what they're trying to prevent.

Should be obvious that their comments about 'uniting communities' is just PR fluff so they do...

This isn't exactly why I'm baffled when reviewers give Red Dead and endless GTA sequels perfect scores and a barrage of games like Assassins Creed which imitate the GTA3 template incredibly high scores.

Yes, these games have a huge open worlds with a large variety of things to do and am immense amount of detail, but the mission design, the real content of the game, has remained virtually unchanged and is just as generic and repetitive as ever.

I mean...

Bad idea. The normal or standard difficulty setting has been regressing lately because distributors are trying to bring in new players. The problem is these people will of course not be too keen to buy the sequel of their game if they get bogged down in the second level because of their lack of experience. And well, choosing easy just feels humiliating!

If this guy's idea goes through and we have a universal difficulty level for virtually all games with a sliding scale di...

If you want an impression of just how ridiculous you all sound, imagine if for every PC port of a console game we came in saying "ahahaha ours looks better!"

Whether its your mum only being able to afford you one console or some kind of immature rivalry, just grow up.

The best part about these kind of comments is somehow all the thing that people have gotten used to are okay. Being able to 'renegerate' health in a few seconds in FPSs is okay, just like not having to replace a whole clip to reload is okay but god forbid anyone would limit your gameplay in any way I'm not used to!

And FYI, I have no clue if this game is any good, I'm just allergic to hypocritical idiocy.

If all you have is a vague understanding of what HD means, and are not going to put in the time to actually find out, no one cares about your wrongful intuition.

Your video player may say it supports 1080p and it might but when it plays a lower resolution video it upscales. In an extreme case, for say a single pixel, 4 may be used instead. Consoles do the same for games that are say 600p.

An emulator like Dolphin doesn't upscale, it actually increases the...

The whole question is largely meaningless because the definition of art is so vague.

The word is described by notions such as creativity, skill and imagination, all things that could be attributed even to menial tasks if you wanted to that no one would proclaim to be art. The point at which is becomes 'art' is when enough of this creativity, skill and imagination is employed and is entirely arbitrary between people.

So it shouldn't be any surprise that some people do...
