I think looking at steam might give you an idea of how the game is doing. For one the player count seemed to dropped off a lot, and I mean a lot. Unless I am looking in the wrong place, but right now, two months ago, the game had over 46,000 avg players, and now has about 3,900 avg players.
I think you are right in that, they might not be able to reveal numbers, so they are careful with wording.

I am more of a console gamer, and would rather own my games than rent them. But that is just my personal preference.
The last true game i enjoyed from them was Skyrim. Will miss ES6, but personally their games are not worth me getting a new system for. Wishing them all the best.

Given Playstation huge install base, I strongly believe they will still have a significant amount of players more than Xbox. If this game does end up on Gamepass, I do expect a lot of Xbox players to try it out, but I don't see many of staying or continue to play. I personally stopped playing BF after 4, so my interest in this new entry is very low. More power to those looking forward to it. Am just really curious as to how much money it will cost to bring the game to Gamepass.
