Didn't Microsoft themselves say, they did a study and just about 3% will switch if COD leave Playstation? Even if you that is a lie, most will not switch, a small % might, but with games such as Apex or Fortnite constantly being among the top most played games. People have more options than they did in past. COD leaving is not a guarantee players will follow

You are right. For example, COD I believe just made about $800M from sales alone, most I will guarantee came from Playstation. COD going to GP would cut of the money from sales on Xbox and if it ever leaves Playstation, I will bet COD will more than likely not even chart well at all.

I personally think this is good for other games if COD loses its sales crown

I bet this news makes a lot of Xbox fanboys very unhappy. Especially given how they have literally convinced them a PS version of this game and Starfield never existed. I would not be surprised if they even claimed this creative director is paid off by Sony.

At the end of the day, I have no problem with MS making these games exclusive. Just be honest about. Don't say you want more people to play your games or you are not taking games away from any platform, or say cons...

I can't imagine being this thin skinned. They can literally add 20 new straight characters with just 1 gay character and I bet that will trigger you and your ilk.

@AmUnRa

Sony I believe is in a much better position to purchase a publisher than MS, as they have not purchased two publishers back to back like MS, especially Japanese publishers. Regulators would more than likely not approve such a purchase from Microsoft.

Honestly speaking I don't want Sony to purchase any publishers, they should focus more on buying smaller studios and develop them. That would be far more beneficial to Sony in the long run

Funny thing is, if Sony keeps dominating Xbox even after the acquisition. I can literally see Microsoft trying to buy some of these publishers, using the excuse, look Sony is doing good, let us buy all these companies so we can compete.

@PrinceOfAnger

You cannot be this ignorant. No one with a brain with make up this lie you just created, but that is expected with you and your ilk. The closest I have seen anyone make such a claim is if they are specifically talking about COD and this might be a hard question for a person like you, but can you take a wild guess who started it all with COD? Aside from that, Sony, Nintendo and others have been in the gaming industry for long and have all been paying for exclu...

Well, Sony isn't saying they want more people to play their games or they don't want to take games away from players. Or you can play where ever you want. I think most will actually have more respect for MS if they were honest, rather than trying to come off as this good guy, then turn around and do the exact opposite. Also Microsoft was the one that rejected Marvel. If anything, they assumed Xbox fans didn't want those type of games.

You and your ilk are so narrow minded, it's sad. 1 Sony didn't buy Square or Capcom, 2, without Sony SFV would not exist. I don't recall seeing a single Xbox fanboys complaining when Octopath Traveler went to Xbox, but not to Playstation. Yet the amount of crying about Sony paying to keep Octopath Traveler 2 off Xbox was very entertaining to watch.

Didn't MS lie about Sony paying to keep Bloodborne off Xbox, when it was Sony, who not only approached FromSoft...

@Obscure_Observer

Seriously stop embarrassing yourself and actually play some games. The game is not even out yet and you are clearly far too narrow minded. There are literally countless ways to build characters development, none of which requires you to play as said characters or be constantly with you. Seriously how don't you know this? There is no single way to do NPC growth, maybe if you actually played different games you would know that.

1183d ago 3 agree2 disagreeView comment

Maybe you don't know this, but not all games have to do things the same way to build characters development. You don't have to play as, Thor, Brok, Sindri, or any of the squad members in Mass effect to have great character development.

But this is a Playstation exclusive, so everyone here knows where you stand

You are not very smart are you? You do know MS literally also pays for exclusive games right? Let me guess you didn't. Care to guess why there are some 3rd party game that have yet to release on Playstation, but are currently exclusive to Xbox? Warhammer 40K darktide, Scorn, High on life, The Gunk, and more? Just take a wild guess.

Seriously you have no idea how a business works do you? Why would Sony spend all the money on COD alone if it's going to force them to ...

You must be a new age gamer that just started gaming recently, can't say i blame you for being misinformed. Waiting till you learn, not only does MS pay for 3rd party games and also keeps them off other platforms, they have been doing for years. COD exclusive content literally began with them.

1187d ago 15 agree7 disagreeView comment

Yes because I am sure MS is going to offer COD on PS+ for free or very cheap right? Didn't Sony come out and say MS is offering it to them at a high price and they would have to increase prices? I wonder why MS kept that part out?
If that were to happen, I would bet you and your ilk would be the 1st in attacking Sony for increasing prices.

This doesn't benefit Sony in anyway way. Not only would they have to pay a lot of money to MS to bring COD to PS, the...

Not everything needs to leave a legacy. When Horizon 1st came out and people kept saying the game was going to be killed by Zelda, then it sold 20M, now same excuses for ER. Am sure devs prefer people buying their games than having a legacy that doesn't lead to more sales. For example FromSoftware games such as Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro have what you call "Legacy" yet more people have played Horizon Zero dawn than most of the sales of these games combi...

Seriously, please learn how to read. That $500M estimate is on the high end, from all Activision games, let me repeat from all Activision games using the 70/30 split, after looking at their financial results. With this latest news, Sony could be getting 20% or even 10%. That decrease the amount they makes from each COD, am not even counting the amount of cash Sony would spend advertising this online and Television.

GOWR is still selling at full price and is more than likely...

They will say they need EA, Ubisoft, Capcom, and Atlus to compete. I personally think the problem with MS is how they mismanaged some of their studios, however since they have so much money, they solve that problem with more acquisitions. They literally have more studios than Sony and Nintendo, been so for years and still still have worse output than both Sony and Nintendo
