Just because Sony says they're not responsible doesn't make them not responsible. They have to make this right or people will lose confidence in their brand, and Sony is completely responsible for their own image. Not making it right is the same thing as saying that they don't care about the leak, and we know that they do or they wouldn't have taken the network down.

It's only like that if that person has convinced me that I can trust them to keep my money stored safely in their house and the professionals steal it then go buy a bunch of stuff online and ruin my credit. Otherwise it's not like that at all.

What I don't get is why the original password was saved down anyway. That's a rookie mistake by anyone who is implementing security. You always encrypt it before you store it and never save the original in plain text. Unless they did, but used a two-way encryption algorithm. That would have been just as much of an amateur move.

Regardless, using the same user id and password everywhere is a pretty dumb move, too. At least make your email account passwords different ...

Thie comments are as ridiculous as the story.

smh

I would think that people would wait for the game to come out, or at least see footage of the 360 version, before arguing over this. Guess that's what I get for thinking.

When I picked up Portal 2 Gamestop gave me $5 to apply toward a preorder of any game I wanted. So I put it down on L.A. Noire. The decision was easy for me.

That was a good article.

Normally that's the case. Especially when the data is objective. But Metacritic user scores are not objective. They're entirely subjective and lack any sort of control mechanism.

The majority of user ratings for every version seem to be either 9's and 10's or 1's and 0's with the odd average number mixed in. To me that says most people aren't being objective.

The only objective way to look at is to assume that none of the reviews ...

The user metascore is a joke. It's almost as if the lower the user score is the better the game. I don't understand why every forum has to be a battlefield in some contrived video game war.

The only thing Anon knows how to say is derp.

I wouldn't be surprised. I'm glad I waited before buying the game. After paying $60 for SFIV only to see them turn right around and release SSFIV this is almost to be expected. Never again.

Yes! Two more days and my copy is already paid in full. The two for one deal is awesome, too, as I'll be playing on my PS3 at home and on my Mac on the go.

Valve rocks so hard.

I'm ok with this.

I have no problem with people wanting to run custom firmware on the hardware they bought. Run as many SNES and Genesis/Mega Drive emulators as you want to. But as soon as you install custom firmware then you have no right to expect Sony to support you with new games.

If you want to stay a part of the ecosystem then buy a new, unmodified box. You can't have it both ways.

Please tell me how taking some moral high ground and jumping to conclusions about his actions makes you any different from Hotz taking some moral high ground and jumping to conclusions about Sony's actions? Why would SCEA spend all of that money to sue Hotz and drop the case with nothing more than a promise when they could have used the money toward developing more PSN features like cross-game chat?

The point is that it isn't our place to judge why any of them did any...

Exactly how is it clear that he used the donation money to go on vacation? Do you have access to his financial records? If not then you don't know what money he used to do anything.

Nobody said it made him a hero. But he did do the right thing. Why try to make it more than it is?

What does his vacation have to do with him donating the legal defense money to the EFF?

Well, I've been doing it since I was 6, and that was 32 years ago. My wife's grandfather played Tengen PacMan on NES until his late 70's. You never get too old.

Gaming is better at my age. I can afford what I want and I have time to enjoy it.

I'm pleased with how Sony has turned their fortunes around. They're doing very well.
