Google translate says this title is "....right in China but this big decision taken against China"

Awesome.

Yeah you're right. It's one of those things where it would be a nice feature but they don't need to really go down that path. Their market is high end console hardware. They're the only players in that corner of the market and they do it well. They don't need to deviate from that.

Winning the console war is like saying you're going to win the war on drugs man. Get real.

Re-read what I said mate cos you're basically asking me to repeat myself with your arguments. The market already has two big players in the hardware space for high end hardware. Nintendo can still be successful without having to directly compete against that due to their strength's I mentioned before. It's a business strategy that is working for them, they don't ne...

Playing the victim? That's weak.

Nintendo copying MS and Sony is a stupid idea. In business terms they would need to produce a product that had a major advantage over them that wasn't just a higher spec in order to win the "spec arms" race. They would have very little leverage in that corner of the market since Sony and MS do that well already.

What Nintendo's strengths are in the gaming market are their IP's, their brand and their uniqueness. Imitation of the higher end hardware man...

You're right about ps4 and Xbone but I think the article is referring to future consoles, not the present one's. If they did it they would switch to cartridge which I think the max on Switch is 32gb. Maybe in a few years the tech would get it to 64gb but even then no one compresses the shit out of games like Nintendo do.

Why did you think it was so bad? I mean it's Hemingway or anything but it wasn't as bad as you're making it out to be.

"Yes, it does. You're supporting it with the only thing they care about: Money. By buying the game you tell them "you can keep putting these things in the game and I'll buy it anyways, so you should keep doing it because it won't stop me and some people will purchase the microtransactions, therefor there is no downside to including them."

The downside is they've spent resources to implement these microtransaction "features" with no b...

Try having a kid. Handheld is the most convenient form of gaming for a parent and therefore would qualify as the best version for them.

No you're missing the big picture because your focus is on one thing.

Buying ME3 for example, I didn't buy any microtransactions. That doesn't mean I support it. The developer/publisher will have data on the units sold as well as the ratio of units that made microtransaction purchases. That second piece of data is the key evidence they need to figure out if there is a market for it because at the end of the day the market decides these things. You not buying it ...

As a developer it is important to listen to users, but you have to take it with a grain of salt. What a user wants is not always the right decision.

Sorry mate, but that's too narrow minded for me. You need to critique the game as a whole. Take Mass Effect 3 for example, it had microtransactions. It wasn't the best ME game but it was pretty decent and finished off the trilogy for better or worse to provide some narrative closure and more time with the characters. It also had arguably the best combat system of the trilogy.

But if you want to just ignore all of that that and just have your reviewer say "Has ...

Hmm yeah but its the market dictates that physical media is still relevant. There are other ways it can become cheaper. Technology for instance. Each console cycle the technology for the system changes. I think now in the tech industry this has been identified as a major hurdle and this generation is probably the one where the lessons have been learnt from it.

Not just in gaming where everyone hated the PS3 cell architecture's guts but also with Web development where a...

Which is not the point of a review. A review is a review of the product, not the business model. The business model can be a factor in the review. But if your review is just about "shitty business practices" as you say, then it is unbalanced in its review of the product as a whole.

Read my comment above where I @ you (but replied to myself) about the costs for the engines.

Re: this comment, 50-100 can make a AAA game, your right. But it may take longer to finish in some cases, and it might not have the same amount of polish as say a Rockstar game. These things they'll see in the planning stage with their feasibility study and cost benefit analysis. But you can't plan everything's going to go smooth. It's highly likely that a 50-100 pe...
