The version number doesn't work like that.
The first number before the decimal is the year - 9 meaning 2009.
The number after the decimal is the month - 9 meaning September.
After this comes 9.10, then 9.11, then 9.12, then 10.1 for January 2010.
Weird logic that goes against having an actual number I know, but that's how ATi works.
I could swear I'd played through Halo 3, but now I guess it was aaaaaaall a dreeeeeeeam.
And by the way, did the guy trying looking at the surface of the disc to see if it was covered in scratches? That tends to be the thing to make games randomly lock up or crash...Though I'm not preparing any class action lawsuit against Microsoft because my copy of Crackdown was accidentally put face-down on a table that had sand on it and moved around a bit with other games stacked on it, res...
I have both consoles and was wondering which to get - Joker was a big pull but there have been problems with Unreal Engine 3 games on PS3 in the past, so knowing the differences in versions helps me a lot.
Just like I chose Burnout Paradise on PS3 and Saint's Row 2 on 360. What's the point of owning both consoles if you can't get the most polished version of each multiplatform game?
To the fanboys of either console, if the entire review was a blank page there'd still be some way to spin it for their platform of choice.
Guess it depends if you like playing the challenge maps with Joker.
I don't really care about the challenge mode so doesn't make a difference to me.
...It's that Microsoft know how to put on a show for their games.
Wish I could get to these events, looks like an awesome time.
This article is simply about the size.
Nothing to do with features, price, value, etc.
No need to start marketing it.
play2man, stop talking sense.
Don't you know anyone with Killzone or Halo in their avatar pic must only spout fanboy nonsense for that particular console and trash every exclusive game on the rival console?
Why, you may even cause people to start thinking they can play and appreciate games on other platforms! Blasphemy!
=P
Just games the writers really didn't enjoy so far this year before the AAA-game season starts.
I really liked the article - instead the constant stream of '360/PS3 console exclusive game Y = bestest game / graphics evererrr', I kind of enjoy reading about what makes bad games are terrible as they are or why someone really disliked a game many other people love.
Heck, I go on IGN and Gamespot and like to read reviews of the LOWEST scoring games. It's always interestin...
The controls in Ghostbusters are a bit more of a challenge than they should be, but I'm enjoying Wolfenstein on PC at the moment happily enough. Kind of got put on hold when I started Batman though. =P
Got to say though I did recently try Two Worlds on PC - not a bad game at all to me, just difficult for it to compete with Oblivion.
A game I played this year that I know I should have liked but didn't was Metroid Prime 3. I recently got a Wii in addition to my 360 and PS3, and seeing great reviews of Metroid Prime 3 and lots of positive comments I tried it out.
I guess it's just not a fit for me. I failed to see what the fuss was about, kind of seemed a bit boring ...
A quite decent game I thoroughly enjoyed. Difficult for it compete with Batman and ODST right on its tail, but definitely worth a rent.
I have really enjoyed all the games in the Halo series so far.
I can see why many people wouldn't really 'get' it or the massive popularity - after all, many other shooters seem to have their 'thing' that makes people notice it. Killzone 2 and Crysis had their jaw-dropping graphics, Gears of War had the fantastic cover system and co-op, Bioshock had its setting, etc.
Halo's 'thing' is more the amazing tuning to the gameplay - something not overtly obvious to a specta...
Followed by a real-life Mongoose ATV from Halo 3. =P
You're not aussie if you don't support Holden
BUT
you can also support Ford as well. However supporting Ford but not Holden at all = not aussie. =P
if you don't support Holden!
Fact.
Forza 3 would have to be one of the best value for money games ever. When you see other racing games with 16 or 24 tracks and 50 cars, and then Forza 3's numbers in the hundreds it's pretty damn amazing.
Many people will only buy 1 game a month.
Batman: AA and Halo 3: ODST are coming out within a month of eachother, so many 360 owners may be waiting for it instead if they can't afford both (and massive preorder numbers show tons of people have already put their money down for ODST).
In a month where one console has a triple A multiplatform games AND a triple A exclusive, sales of the multiplat will always be lower for the install base compared to another console tha...
Does the Slim topping sales charts suddenly make playing your PS3 more fun?
Does the Elite topping sales charts suddenly make playing your 360 more fun?
Why do people get so aggressive / defensive around sales charts? It doesn't affect you at all. Everyone on this site already has at least one of the consoles, why would sales charts make any difference to that? Game quality doesn't rely on sales (Wii......) so why should you care what other people are buying?
Providing they're done well.
The things I like most in special editions are:
1) Making-of DVD / Blu-Ray
2) Concept art book
3) Soundtrack
4) Special packaging (eg: metal case)
5) Good figurines
Things I DON'T like:
1) Special Edition-only DLC, because it means buyers of the stadnard edition are missing out on content that was already made and simply withheld to make people buy special editions (eg: the 'exclusive' ext...
