That is, until you stepped in, Killzonegamer.
Seriously, you make me embarrassed to own a PS3.
I watched the gametrailers review. They mentioned that it fails to bring anything new in other than the impressive scale, and that the fixed camera makes the platforming sections frustrating (and show it in the video). Combined with the fantastic flowing combat and puzzles that sounds like about an 8.7 in Design (brilliant but a few niggles that could have been ironed out).
Secondly, if you think the 360 is a bad conso...
For example, if a car is called something and a gardening tool has the same commercial name it's not an issue.
There might be something here though, as both are in the area of 'wireless electronic control device for human computer interface'.
Just depends exactly what Microsoft has trademarked or patented.
It's similar to the current fiasco between Apple and Fujitsu over 'iPad', as Fujitsu already had an 'iPad' that was a touchscreen scanning device for...
Microsoft released a range of PC mice and accessories several years ago called 'Arc'.
Sony announces motion controller less than a year ago.
Would it be a cheap shot by Apple if suddenly someone wanted to bring out a product called an 'iPod' only to find Apple already owns that name?
Seriously? 9.2/10 is bad now? The writer's mood on the day of review could vary the score as much as 0.3 either side.
And suddenly graphics 9.5/10 is bad? If it was 10/10, wouldn't that mean it's impossible to improve on them? In the 10 year ps3 lifespan do you all honestly think we'll never see a game that looks better than GoW3?
5/10 is supposed to be an average, not bad but not good game. Something that doesn't stand out but does its job competantly. 9.2/10 seems ...
In the last 2 years EA's shaped up and become a great publisher by:
A) taking risks with new IP (eg: Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, Dragon Age, Left 4 Dead)
B) ensured their multiplatform games are pretty much identical
C) given support to new platforms and addons (Natal, Arc, iPhone games, cloud-based gaming services such as onLive, 3D gaming demonstrations with Burnout)
D) Maintained PC support while other pubishers are running away from it
E) Removed the in...
You lie!
Next you'll be saying girls exist in real life too!
=P
But it wasn't for me. I kind of got bored, there was a lot of mundane chores that I wouldn't want to do in real life and certainly not when I sit down to play. Might be better with the PlayStation Arc (or whatever it'll be called) but I didn't really get immersed.
On the other side I know a ton of people who loved Heavy Rain. Just a shame it wasn't for me. =( Ah well, God of War 3, Halo: Reach, Alan Wake and FFXIII still to look forward to! We're being seriously spoiled for choic...
I own all the consoles and have God of War 3 preordered (just as I do with Halo: Reach).
Making stupid fanboy-baiting comments like that is ignorant and uncalled for outside of the Open Zone.
Seriously.
So many games are being cancelled before release as funding runs out.
If games could be released in multiple parts, the first episode could generate revenue to continue development on the rest of the game. Also, it could allow smaller developers to remove the need for a publisher to fund them (and control the contents / direction of the game).
It could also make sure we aren't subjected to Rogue Warrior-esque games - ie: if the first part of the game is bad and doesn...
Didn't like the Collector's Edition, seemed pretty generic money-grabbing effort.
Comic was cool, but the DVD seemed more like a promo advertisement, despite the fact anyone watching it had obviously already bought the game.
Aliens vs Predator collector's edition looks way better imo, providing the game's worth it.
But I'm still a bit wary since I found their last game STALKER a bit boring...
So many memorable themes, and it knows when to be epic and when to use something more subtle.
I also like the Final Fantasy series soundtracks, but they're starting to all get a bit too similar. Hoping FFXIII has one to remember.
It is a fair bit more chuggy than it really should be.
I mostly don't like the auto-aiming. Half the time it didn't want to target an enemy even with the crosshair right over it so the arrows (playing as the natives) wouldn't hit them. Other than that the world is pretty awesome. Makes me want to see a nature documentary on pandora!
Just wish I had a 3D screen to play it on...
They tend to get lots of colours and designs that never make it overseas. =(
It would be nice if there were more limited edition consoles along the lines of the RE5, Halo 3 and Modern Warfare 2 360s, and the MGS4 PS3.
Possibilities:
- God of War III PS3: white with red blood trails down the side.
- Halo: Reach 360 - black with the orange planet silhouette that's in the promo image.
- New Super Mario Bros Wii: just make it red with the mario logo, it...
So.....from an article talking about ways the gameplay of Gears could be expanded, you're saying increased storage capacity = better game?
Seriously?
That must mean Super Mario Bros is one of the worst games ever.
This is an article about GAMEPLAY. Gameplay is not graphics. Gameplay is not inluenced by storage capacity. The only thing that benefits from increased capacity is needing to use less compression or fitting more data, and in reality only textur...
As a part of the industry, providing tools such as XNA and somewhere for smaller developers to be able to publish them (Xbox Live Indie and Arcade) without the need for a publisher has kept many small studios and indie teams alive in the economic crisis.
A small local developer (Halfbrick) was stuck in a never-ending cycle of doing licensed games for Nickelodean shows, and quite mediocre ones since they had such pressured time limits.
Now they're doing multiple games...
I perhaps a more appropriate name would be PS-Raver.
After all, if the motion control follows a lot of the Wii's waggling you'll spend a lot of time wildly flailing around, but this time with glowy balls!
Turn out the lights and it's a par-tay!
Obviously including gay couples in videogames for the attention or as a novelty ('oh look, it's the token ______ minority character!') is just silly.
I liked how Mass Effect and Fable handle it - by not making it any different to the straight relationships in the games. There's no difference other than the gender.
It can be crinch-worthy in certain games though when the development team just bases a gay character off the stereotype (*cough* Enchanted Arms).

I have to say, the Sixaxis / Dualshock 3 cramps my hand. It was made most obvious to me when after finishing Ninja Gaiden 2 on my 360, I picked up Sigma 2 on PS3 and found the speed of the button mashing hurt my hands (and fingers).
I know it's an iconic shape and all, but Sony could do with going for an ergonomic design like the 360 pad. Sony's d-pad and built-in rechargable battery + 360 shape, thumbstick positions and triggers = ultimate controller.
I still also h...
