I love how 50% of the comments on N4G are not related to the articles they're posted under. =S
Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I like having choice like in ME2, but really it doesn't make any real difference to how you actually play or what you do - just slightly different cutscenes and dialogue.
Oh, and Sheppard's glowy scars stay too which is pretty cool.
The Witcher had some awesome decisions in the storyline that had major effects, and they weren't 'good vs evil' ones either. Almost all decisions in the game were just different shades of grey which made them interesting as they could all...
I really liked Halo 3 and ODST's short live-action trailers, but I agree that they can't be taken as representative of the actual game.
As long as they're released along with proper gameplay trailers so we can see the game itself it's interesting to have a professionally-done short film/trailer to get you excited.
I think it's difficult to pin one single game as the 'greatest of all time', because comparing games between genres and between singleplayer and multiplayer.
For example, could anyone compare Metal Gear Solid 4 and StarCraft? Both are right near the top of their respective genres, but I don't think anyone could say for certain one is better than the other because what factors would you use to compare? Graphics? Sound? AI? It would just be silly.
So I definitely agree...
I'm getting bored with post-apocalyptic settings.
It's the new 'tropical island'. A game does it well and everyone jumps on board.
Empty brown wasteland is empty and brown after all...
He says it's one of the best games of the generation?
If you're seriously not observant enough to tell the entire article is done in a satirical fashion, then that's a bit worrying.
Seems obvious to me the style of the article is purposely making fun of what people expect from a 360-focused site overing a ps3 game. It made me laugh, and if you look at their previous 'Steal-It' articles which were very fair this one is to take the piss out of fanboys.

A Killzone 2 review from last year from the same writer.
I personally think the writing style of this review was entertaining, and thought it was pretty obvious it's done in a satirical way. It's making fun of fanboys and what they expect from a 360-centric site.
I don't know if he's talking about the same point, but I had a weird cutscene too where it stuttered multiple times and for a few seconds the characters froze and stopped animating while the voices and sounds went on. I'm pretty sure it was the first time talking to Hera.
And I'd agree that occasionally the textures were a bit dodgy, like on the massive eagle statues when he's climbing the chain and on some environment surfaces. Mostly it all looked amazing but in my opinion Unch...
Just Cause 1 suffered because it was so big that every interesting landmark or area was spread way out, also like FUEL.
I'm not a fan of games where you have to travel for ages to get anywhere (*cough FarCry2).
I'm sick of bars and clubs that just chuck on generic techno and strobe lights.
Gaming sounds like much more fun. And it doesn't hurt that The Mana Bar on any night of the week seems to house a lot of Brisbane's game devs.
They should set up a temporary one at E3!
Another good sandbox to dive into!
I'm glad developers are starting to see the number of gamers wanting their open world games to be just about having fun messing around and being a jackass.
I preferred Saint's Row 2, Infamous and Crackdown to GTA4, and had an awesome time smashing stuff up in Red Faction: Guerilla so looking forward to seeing what mayhem I can get up to with the grappling hook.
I'm sure this will be one of those games like Saint's Row 2...
3D requires 2 images to be rendered simultaneously for both glasses and glasses-free forms of 3D.
That's twice the processing.
Also, having 2 screen (backwards compatible with DS games) = twice the processing.
That means games will roughly look as good as on 1/4 of the hardware power, so unless Nintendo releases a super-expsinve powerhouse it's likely games won't be gamecube-quality.
I enjoyed Dante's Inferno, lots of 'kill enemies to unlock door' and restricted environments, but good combat system.
Just a warning though: play this BEFORE God of War 3 or you might not enjoy it as much, since truthfully GoW3 does raise the bar quite a bit.
Here, the highest rating for movies is R18+ (there are still some movies that get banned).
The movie ratings are:
G PG M MA15+ R18+
Yet for some reason, the ratings for games are:
G PG M MA15+
Notice one missing? Michael Atkinson has been pretty much the only person standing in the way of getting an R18+ rating so we can stop having games either censored (L4D2) or banned outright (almost didn't get FEAR 2 or AVP). ...
Just so glad we have CHOICE!
And with Medal of Honor looking like it'll shape up to be something special, everyone should find something for themselves.
And hey, competition drives progress. I have a feeling EA might not have invested so heavily in BC2 had CoD not been breathing down its neck.
I've been looking for my next open-world fix, and it's good to see a setting different from:
A) City
B) Rennaisance city
C) Destroyed city
D) Zombie / mutant-infested city
E) All of the above
I just hope Rockstar gives it enough of a marketing push to let it stand up with the rest of its mega-franchises.
Wasn't really interested in the previous ones, and didn't like Metal Gears Solid 4 but from what I've seen Conviction seems more up my alley.
Hope they can pull it off!
For a home console, size and weight doesn't have any effect. It just sits under your TV for 99% of the time unless you carry it around. The only thing that really matters is hardware stability (improvements to heat generated, etc) and power consumption.
I didn't really get why so many people traded their fat PS3s for slim ones last year...there's no actual difference apart from the case (and marginal power improvements that hardly justify buying a new ps3). =S
It ma...
Got to disagree with you there. I found the pointless 'shake side to side! Now up and down!' was annoying as hell.
Heavy Rain + move controller makes sense, but the sixaxis shaking just felt gimmicky to the point where it ruined the immersion everytime it popped up.
I must admit however, I did click the article just because of that awesome picture. =)
