@55 - Hopefully you see this. But you are incorrect. First off, even Epic said they did not push the 360 to it's limits. Second, they were talking about the engine performing better at this point in time than it did last year when they were doing Gears. What you fail to realize is that they are not say...
They've been spending a couple months working on optimizing the engine for the PS3 and they've spent a couple YEARS working on the Xbox 360.
And yes, they did say that they are shooting for Gears plus graphics and guess what?? The PS3 wasn't mentioned once in the article and has nothing to do with the PS3. It has to do with getting better at what your dev'ing..

I also own both systems and my 360 gets played a hell of a lot more than my PS3. While the PS3 feels thrown together software wise and online wise the 360 feels well thought out and unified. The PS3 is going to need a 10yr life cycle to catch up in those areas (j/k). I do think MS's biggest mistake is not having an HDD in every machine and I do think that MS has some PR work to do with reassuring their existing customers and potential customers that the 360 hardware issues are being fixed ...
So basically sounds like the fake price-drop is really just smoke and mirrors to move out the old 60gb unit and replace it will the 80gb unit and also garner good press for themselves going into E3.

I will NOT be running out to buy Gears of War 2. Not when they are pulling this kind of sh*t. The single player campaign on the 360 was lame ass short..short to the point of don't buy this game if you're looking for a rich campaign. 5 more chapters on the PC, all new maps, new multiplayer modes, map editor, etc.. I smell a really crappy port coming from this. I really love the idea and I'm sure the ESRB will love them as well(AO anyone?) but you are dev'ing for a last gen very weak PS2 and 360 and PS3?
EDIT: Didn't see a reference to anything other then "next-gen consoles" so maybe it's not PS2 at all. Considering the game won't even see the light of day until Halloween 2009 will the PS2 still be supported then anyway?
Now that is very optimistic and I'm sorry but a bit dillusional.. They would have to sell/ship double what they already have plus 3 million. Even just shipped that is crazy..
I know Sony can't stand that MS has that number and they will say whatever they can to take away from it even if it's just crazy.

This is #1 on my must own list. I not only think it will be the best RPG this year but probably the best RPG/Action/Sci-fi adventure game ever on a console. The dialogue mechanics are amazing and the graphics are unbelievable. I really think this is as close to feeling like your in a movie as it gets. It has GOTY written all over it.
due to Blu-ray diode shortages.. The devs had the kits at the same time as they did for the 360. Please get off this Cell and Blu-ray superiority trip, nobody is buying it.. I will say yes the Blu-ray can hold more space, but even that is answered with compression.
Just as the PS3 folks do... Seems like the only decent ones on this site are the Wii people.. haha
But never tried to use this.. It seems rather stupid playing it on cable. Do you pass the remote control around the room? I have played the actual retail version and it is fun with a group of people and a few brews.
