It would be interneting to see where this application they used came from.
A little vague (not surprising)
But there's your answer to anyone who thinks that can sue Sony for negligence.
Three firewalls between the internet and the main database.
Yes someone found a crack in the system to get through them, but it will be hard to prove that sony did not put in enough effort to protect the system.
@ kreate
What you said makes no sense.
Why go out and sell a console only to go back and buy it again a few months later?
Sounds like a lot of effort to lose money.
I think most people will be glad when PSN is back, and think nothing beyond that.
Its great to have a free months PSN+, but considering that normal on line play is free, they didn't need to do that.
People jump up and down saying Sony owes them!...for what? Its a free service!
And its only been down for a couple of days.
I'm sure there are a few who will be looking for blood, but as always in these things, they will be the most vocal....
Lucky for me services like PSN and other account like my bank and Paypal have totally different logons and passwords.
Oh hang on...it wasn't luck! I made it that way!
You are talking about the same company that made windows!!!
What happen to Sony can just as easily happen to MS.
We don't know the details of who or why they did it, protest about Geohot or maybe actually trying to hack to get personal info and credit card details.
Companies that have an online service will always be a target.
Its just that in this case it was Sony that was hit.
I think it will be free for PS4.
Mainly because when the PS4 comes out, the PS3 will still be going for a few years, and it will be hard to justify charging then.
But by that stage PSN Plus will probably have more of a foot hold, so should be OK.
I was at the Gadget show over the weekend which had a games section.
On the floor was a blocked off section where all the R18 games were located and none of the kids were allowed in.
It was great that not only could the adults go in and enjoy the games with out trying to rip the controller out of the hands of the kid that just jump in front of him.
But it was also good that this showed the parents going round with the kids that they were not meant to be seeing this stu...
Good luck.
No point in doing half a job, if they were going to a MP, its best to go all out or not at all.
Otherwise you'll just get people complaining the MP is no good and you'll get marked down.
Plus even to get the basics right would take a lot of resources.
I'm glad they are sticking to single player.
Maybe down the line they can do an MMORPG.
The universe sets it self up for that.
Maybe I should setup one of these in the office. I'm sure the boss won't mind.
I'm just hoping that they takes away the lessons they get from Dragon age 2 so that they make ME3 as good as it can be.
If you want to defend the rights of gamers, let them nail Geohot (Or what ever his name is).
He's managed to do more damage gamers enjoyment than anyone.
Protect and stand behind the people who make the good games and they will continue to make good games.
Steal codes and try to rip them off and the developers will close...no more games.
Its more likely to be just a few.
They probably have a selection of Zombie machine doing the work, don't need the appoval of the PC owners to use their PC to hack.
If their so into fighting for our freedom, why are they wasting their time pissing round with a games console.
You'd think there were bigger fish to fry!
..and in so doing making sure the developers get no more money as so close and then no one will have games.
Yeah, nice one!
So that means I have the right to buy a car and then remove the brakes so it will go faster.
What ever you buy you can do what you want with it within REASON.
Fact is you can take a hammer to your PS3 if you want, but if you take the property rights of the code that is running on the PC and then give or sell the items out to others, then that is stealing.
Its very simple, so stop trying to justify it by saying your brought it. because you didn...
It always was going to be an up hill battle to get Krato looking as good in Mortal Combat to how he does in GOW3.
Is he just trying to prove a point?
Basically yes
But only that he could do it.
No real point other than that.
When was the last time you saw a western company Head say "sorry, we F****ed up".
It doesn't make it right, but at lest their showing that they understand.
Plus, yes, there a a break into the system and personal details were hacked. Not good, but no one lost their lives.
