That's what I was thinking...unless later on their going to release the PS4 version for PS4 in the not to distant future.
But yeah, that would hurt some sales.

It sounds like there were to many Sci-fi IPs on the go at the moment, so they canned the project that was furthest behind.
If their holding onto the assets, then we can only assume they will pick this up again at a later date when there are less sci-fi games being developed.
I think ND were work on a new sci-fi IP as well, so it may have been because of this that it happened.

@ MrSwankSinatra

Maybe not, but that's not to say either of the 3 are capable of making their own mistakes.
In fact all 3 have, the only difference between MS and Sony is Sony did a lot of their mistakes last gen and now MS are trying to sort out their mistakes for this gen.
And who knows whats going on with Nintendo these days.

It's fine if it's part of the game dynamic and is required for the game play to work like in the batman games.
Like everything. it depends on how it is incorporated into the game.

Hopefully this will mean the Japanese developers will take the console more seriously and make more games for the home console market.

Maybe they can finally cut to the modern day.
And then the future where it's set, so they can finally finish the story.

That would be a very un-eventful game.

Or.... you can buy out a company, tell them what to do so that they have no creative freedom, so all the talented people leave and then your just left with a hollow shell.

You just need to look at what happeed to the last guardian to see how much Sony lets the developer get away with whendeveloping their games.

The A team worked on UC2
The B team worked on UC3
The A team worked on TLOU

Just by the order of how the games came out you can tell which team wrked on what. Although I'm sure a company ike ND would mix up the groups when needing the talent during different phases during development.

The main thing Xbox needed to do was bring the price down, and they have done that. adding a game that was one of the main exclusives amoung the consoles can only help this further.
It really is the kick it needs and if it really helps the sales in the UK, it will only be a matter of time before the other countries follow.
I wouldn't be surprise if they are using the UK as a test bed to see how this effects the sales.

I played Bioshock 2 on PSN+, it was alright and did have a few themes that tied into the whole story.
But the main draw was the story that Ken had created and in that respect, Bioshock 2 could never have happened and it wouldn't have effected the other games.

Often its down to the management of the company which causes these issues.
If a company worked effectively and created a production line of games so that as the programming and testing teams are finishing off the previous game, the art tams are already working on the next one. It's about making your work force efficient.

However a lot of these companies are run by people who aren’t always business minded and don't start thinking about the next project until...

Spreading them selves to thin...they haven't even started selling in their home market yet.

No one could be sure how well it was going to sell until it hit the shops.
Hindsight is a funny thing.

I would have to agree that I prefered the overall feeling of dread you got from Demon souls. (yes I did play Demon Souls first)
But yeah, I loved both of them.

Can't wait to see wha they do with Dark souls 2.
It will keep my PS3 busy for a good while yet.

That sounds a little selfish.
Firstly, if you’re burnt out don't you have any trust in your co-workers to come up with ideas!
Surely if he was stuck for ideas, he could sit down with everyone else in the company and do some brain storming.

Second, you’re talking about the jobs of people you've been working with for years. I'm sure he could take a back seat and just consult on the ideas for the next game.
