That was exactly my point in that article. Sony is clearly looking for that Killer App FPS, they see a game Like Black Ops with all it's flaws become the best selling game on their console, it has to make you think.
I'm not saying Killzone is a horrid series, it's just not the Halo of the PS3.
People's overeagerness can annoy me sometimes. Yes they are talking a lot about Kinect, but we don't know what's going on for 360 right now as far as exclusives for later this year and next year.
It took a lot of R & D to launch what is basically a new console in Kinect, so they pulled companies off XBox 360 games to produce for Kinect's launch. Now that it's such a success other outside developers are going to want to develop for the Kinect leaving M...
Only way this happens is if Nintendo up and leaves the handheld market altogether....
Every Kevin Butler Commercial is a slap in the face to Americans and people with common sense.
The Japanese went to the lowest common denominator with that slap shtick over the top presentation and I quite honestly find it offensive.
I've never liked the actor in shows I've seen him in, pretty much third rate and I don't like him in commercials about games or gaming because he's probably not gamed a day in his life.
As for marketing,...
I originally said Killzone 3 would sell around 1.5 to 2 million lifetime and I might be right on the money.
When you look at it, Killzone 1 was one of the most awful and broken titles ever, then came the hype of Killzone 2, which it never lived up to, now comes the third game and a lot of people who felt scorned by the last one aren't going to buy this one.
Killer App it's not.
You could never aim fast enough with a controller against someone who uses a Keyboard and mouse...you just cant.
I remember back a couple of years ago I used to play a Xbox 360 game called Shadow Run, this game also put you up against P.C. players, well you definitely could tell who used the P.C. version because you didn't have time to do anything, it was headshot after headshot, which is why that game died out so quickly and people complained.
No, it's not. Check the PS3 official codecs, they are using less then 64k on their voice chat codecs. They are pretty much using PS2 versions for their voice chat.
The background noise, audio levels just aren't there. It's been a huge issue for me since I bought a PS3 years ago and Sony has never done a thing to remedy the issue. I've used all kinds of headsets from USB to $120 Blu tooth, it's just bad thinking and planning on their part.
Funny how almost every PS3 fanboy here trashed Alan Wake, now a story like this comes up and we see some of those same fanboys say a something totally different.
Anyway, Alan Wake was one of my top games last year, it was simply amazing, I'm glad they decided to make their own engine and take their time, it's a one of a kind experience and I'm happy to say I bought it brand new for my Xbox 360.
I will also say I'm a bit upset it was one of the...
Thats 20 minutes when you combine everything. Far more annoying then switching one disk. That was my point, thanks for helping me to prove it.
I actually HATE P.C. gaming, it's just not my thing, as I suspect with many other people. I use my computer for work, porn and downloading things, I keep my gaming to consoles and a trusty controller, failing that the Wii or Kinect.
But to each their own, I could see server issues and unfair advantages and that was just my two cents.
I actually hope Microsoft doesn't allow this to happen. I think going against P.C. players who use a Mouse and Keyboard is a bit of a disadvantage for the regular controller gamer.
I can see why Ps3 people would be happy to chat with other members though or what have you, hopefully the Valve codecs offer better voice chat quality then the current PS3 voice chat setup allows.
I always listen to what IGN has to say, they've been pretty spot on, but I would never base a potential buy on something they or anyone said. I usually like to rent "Suspect" games from Gamefly first to see if it's worth a buy or not.
People at this site complaining another site biased is definitely a clear cut case of the pot calling the kettle black.
If you don't like it or agree with them, why go there? Why complain? Seems like people...
You've never played it, then you cant compare the two. It does indeed have realistic damage, I've never had it do what your claiming, if you smash head on your going to crumple your car.
Now I've rented GT5 with Gamefly and that was some weak damage, most of the time you cant even tell your cars been damaged.
I don't think Forza is geared towards younger people, every car handles differently and I'm not sure if your familiar with the cust...
If they don't show something this year then either the title isn't going as planned or some other bad thing has happened.
Ghost town? like every PS3 online game a month later? Doubtful. Forza 3 is filled with people and I never have trouble finding a match.
Forza 2 which I still play from time to time still has a strong following, in fact I auctioned off a couple cars in under 2 hours on Forza 2 the other day. This is XBL, not PSN.
So you've never played FM3? The cars handle the best I've ever played and the damage is realistic. It actually dents, your hood, bumpers, mirrors can all get knocked off, you can actually flip your car.
You cant compare the weak to no damage and horrid non realistic physics of GT games to the spot on ones of Forza 3.
There is a reason Forza 3 is called the best racing sim around. Don't hate on something you've not even played.
Well It could be exclusive or might not be, Metal Gear was on the original Xbox and Twin Snakes which is arguably the best Metal Gear title was on the Gamecube.
I think they wouldn't have to cut anything, add an extra disk for Xbox 360 and your all set. I mean it's no more hassle then the 5 times you had to wait for 7 minute installs with MGS4, which is the main reason I never even finished that game, even to this day.
With MGSR going on the 360 as we...
We'll just have to agree to disagree, let's just say if Cliffy B started kissing up to Sony and made an exclusive or something for Sony all of a sudden everyone here would love him, saw it happen with Fat Gabe over at Valve.
Why would I lose them? I've gained since I started here.
I own a PS3 as well, I just don't enjoy Killzone. I find it funny my bubbles have been mentioned yet again simply because I bring valid points into a thread.
Since I've been gaming for so long, pretty sure I know what a killer App is.
I guess I'll expect to hear "Sales don't equal quality" argument again..... Funny it's always the PS3 fans that bring that up.
