Nah, companies need to learn how to manage their budgets better, and not make crap games.
For every good quality game you have some rubbish like that Fast and Furious game attempting to cash in, and just recently that Ride to Hell game.
Used games have been around since the beginning, if they were causing as much trouble as people like to claim gaming would have died decades ago.
Just so you know, MS could have done all that WITHOUT the restrictions they were trying to pull.
Stone age my ass, they were banking on gamers like you to just line up for the crap they were trying to sell and it failed.
Just because it seems like a good idea to you and a few others doesn't mean that it actually is.
Look, SR has a story. It has had a story since the first game. The games weren't serious and had plenty of crazy stuff in them.
SR3 does not follow the story the previous games had. It is like a (bad) alternate reality from the rest of the series.
Besides that, the game isn't funny. At all. Really all they had to do if they wanted to make some random sandbox game was to do it and call it by some other name...not try to make it part of the Saint's...
Didn't want that crap either. The only think I really liked about SR3 was the jet bike and hover jet. That is it.
Even though the customization stuff looked better, it was worse than SR2 it regards to options. The city was dead, diversions(the good ones were gone anyway) were part of the "story", the story itself was crap, and most of the humor just wasn't funny. I think I cracked a smile once during the whole game.
A dance number in SR2 wou...
Exactly right. I was actually a bit worried before SR3 came out cause I kept hearing them talk about crazy and silly but nothing about..well, everything else.
And next thing I know, I have a crazy, silly game in my hands that has absolutely nothing else going for it.
I personally think that not only are most of the people that worked on the first two games are no longer around, but the ones in charge of the main bits have fallen into drug use.
All I can do is shake my head...
This is beyond sad.
Out of that list, the only thing that is actually NEW is 1 and 2.
Which of one these things I'd end up using personally.
3.
But the ability is already around, so basically if I were to buy an Xbox the kinect part of it would be dead weight.
The thing should be optional.
You know, I haven't got around to trying any lego games, Batman is calling my name though. Really thinking about giving it them a try.
I don't think all games need a deep story, just a decent one that makes sense and has an ending at some point.
Back in the day NES games barely had a story, they were fun but I was one of those kids that always wondered about the characters themselves.
These days there isn't really an excuse for a game without some sort of story, and characters that have no background whatsoever.
But at the same time, if a game is simply a blast to ...
Hey now, boxing is kinda fun with move. Really that and any sort or dancing/exercise is all I see motion gaming being good for.
Maybe sword fighting and archery(and golf), but the Move has that covered already.
Not really. As a gamer I couldn't give a damn about accessing the internet or tv on my console. I don't surf the web on my systems, I barely use netflix on them.
I get a console to play games first and foremost.
As it has been, the problem is the damn thing(kinect) is forced on you, so of course you are gonna make it seem as cool as possible to justify HAVING to have it.
What has happened to the Turtles I grew up with? I guess technically they wouldn't be teenagers anymore...
I think I'd rather play Turtles in Time...the classic one. Memories...
This right here. Unfortunately the PS3 with all my DLC died and I haven't had it repaired yet. Got a new PS3 but haven't downloaded all the songs again, kinda killed my spirit to play.
Been busy with Rocksmith though, something else I can see me playing for ages.
You are definitely wrong about being in the minority. MOST of the people who liked SR1 and 2 hated or really disliked the game.
I was on the official forums till I finally had it and I recall maybe two people defending the game's direction.
The fact you thought the game had a "great story" says a lot. Not really trying to knock your taste but I don't remember a single thing that was "great" about it.
It was just...
It went plenty wrong. Look folks, you can have a fun and crazy game that still makes SENSE.
SR2 was just right. Had a good story, and lots of craziness, plus there was loads to do and places to explore.
In comes SR3, where it ONLY had stupid craziness.
You know what? IncredibleGamerChick has pretty much covered everything I wanted to say, and did a fine job with it.
SR3 and from the looks of it SR4 are steps backwards in ...
You know, I kinda miss the old days when multiplat games WERE different.
SNES games were generally better looking the the Genesis, but you did have quite a few sega gems that were better than the SNES version.
"Without a peer to contend with, Saints Row 3 was spectacular. It perfectly hit in almost every way. The perfect amount of hilarity, with a fantastic open world and the ability to nut punch or suplex at almost moment."
This is how you know the article is already a load of bs.
The game had perfect NOTHING, featured an open world that was practically empty with no reason to explore, humor that kids barely in their teens would find funny, with a rubbi...
That was in SR2 though. 3 was complete rubbish. Everything that made 2 great(mainly for me it was the fact the city had life) is gone.
GTA4 was incredibly boring for me. I enjoyed it but not in the manner I enjoyed the previous games in the series, and I felt that was a problem.
Instead of taking SR4 back to the series roots, they've turned SR3's expansion into a full blown game(supposedly), so I already know I will be disappointed.
Wenis speaks the truth. If I'm not mistaken most of the people who worked on 1 and 2 didn't work on 3, and it shows.
Just terrible.
The game was fun for a while, and it was one of the few FPS that I truly enjoyed. More maps and content could have made it great.
Sadly I haven't played the game in a long time, last time I tried it was impossible to get into a large game, and I don't really like sabotage so I lost interest.
