Some of you truly deserve more broken releases like this.
BTW, 60.1% completion percentage for the story completion trophy in addition to the sales. Ghost of Tsushima: 48.9%. FF7R: 54.0%. Don't let that deter you from telling us about your YouTube videos. LMAO.
Those AI issues aren't a thing on PC?
Can we put to rest the "you're not allowed to..." pouting? It's like that's become the go to line for having an unpopular opinion and a substitute for bothering to craft a well constructed argument in support of that opinion.
They did not get a free pass from everyone, but they got a free pass from way more than they should have, including some reviewers who have some soul searching to do and should be questioning whether the fundamental purpose of reviews is to help their audiences make an informed decision or to serve as an extension of the marketing campaign for the products reviewed.
Let's also give a special shoutout to those who have excoriated and campaigned against other games for l...
How is the article "unjust"? For reporting the numbers while brining up the same caveat you mentioned? But just like people tried to tell the "13 countries" brigade last gen, the number of consoles manufactured and where they're distributed isn't determined by a random roll of the dice that Sony keeps having the better luck at. There's a strategy that goes into production and distribution.
So what were you playing when you typed that?
You managed to fit the multi-console gamer, "both consoles," delayed tools, and "rdna2" talking points in one short paragraph while keeping the 'best place to play' talking point on life support. Expertly done.
@Zhipp
What Phoenix said. You can't just chase wild guesstimates with more wild guesstimates and call it good. Xbox moving to the Game Pass model is not the same as these television and movie streaming services, which are risky endeavors themselves. We're talking about going from 3rd parties paying MS to be able to sell their games on Xbox to MS paying 3rd parties to put their games on Game Pass.
@Captain
The fanboy segment of the fanbase has a history throughout the generations of downplaying Playstation lineups while overhyping every scrap that gets tossed their way. There are many full exclusive or console exclusive games flying under the console war radar on PS that would be hyped as the next big thing if they had any sort of exclusivity on Xbox.
"I love naughty dog games and all but if they ever released a broken game like this, they can expect major backlash (even from me)..."
Look at the hate they got and continue to get from some who didn't like certain aspects of the story or characters. Those people should get more releases like this.
Good ol' grouping. I brought that up when talking about "the rules" the other day, but apparently those are unspoken rules, so I'll just file them away in this box of things we don't acknowledge, right beside all the crazy things people say in past comment sections before they're proven wrong.
Where's this Greenberg been? That's the smart play.
"Really gamers are just immature as hell, that's why we can't have great stories on gaming, people just cant cope with change or overly different experiences."
This is what blows my mind. Some of these same people will blast other companies for not taking risks with their games. How do you think you get a GoT? How do you think you got the first TLoU? Let creators be creative with the understanding that it may not always connect with you, but the same creat...
Come on now, Foxtrot. You're calling Neil out for immaturity? Let's try to have some consistency.
"Personally I think that’s what give Ghost of Tsushima the last push."
In other words, you think there were other factors that influenced the voting other than the individual merits of the game. So what are you on about??? Are you really that hard up for a win that you're in here crowing about TLOU2 coming in 2nd for GOTY to a game deser...
I would caution against mistaking people who participate in the vote for the Game Awards' Players' Voice Award as being representative of gamers in general.
Nonetheless, GOT is a very deserving title.
@Kane22
"4chan and reddit went out of their way to make sure tlou 2 lost. why are people ignoring that."
Because they desperately seek validation. They can't even stand getting more down votes than up votes on N4G. The game will have it's critics like any other, but this one has attracted a contingent of them who have always relied on validation, being in the majority, to make up for what their arguments lack in substance. The masses hav...
Their head of investor relations explicitly referenced PS5 in asking Nadella what was being done to set Xbox apart from it to "win the console war."
What's interesting is that a certain exec postures like "Compete with PS? We off that." and acts like console wars are something made up by toxic fanboys on the interwebs to keep busy.
@AnnaDea
You have a point. I have a blast with Skyrim. But doesn't that speak to the inherent challenges of trying to convey an experience using a review score? The honest reviewer has to find some way to translate the experience into a number (or letter) AND ensure they're consistently factoring in the same variables proportionally across reviews.
What I find interesting is that their head of investor relations not only asked how they're setting themselves apart to win the "console war" but wasn't corrected on that terminology.
@esherwood
Technically, Cooper was saying you're the one who belongs to an exclusive club.
