That's something that happens here in TLOU2 comment sections. Pro TLOU2 comments will suspiciously be deluged with disagrees some time after the conversation has died down. You know this game has people in their feelings when they've gone from review bombing Metacritic to review bombing N4G user comments.

I'll put this here rather than reply to a comment that will be collapsed when someone gets sent away to enjoy their 2nd ban:

The Last of Us: Part II – 261 (169 Media, 92 Reader’s Choice)
The Last of Us – 254 (196 Media, 58 Reader’s Choice)

Anyone about to rant about the media should consider the implications of that.

"Why even discuss this with such an obvious Xbox troll? If he can put TLOU 2 in a negative light, he will."

I struggle to find a reason beyond trolling that someone would claim "games media sure did push this one along with the awards" when anyone who bothered to read the article can see that TLOU2 actually won more reader's choice awards and less media awards than the original.

"I enjoyed detroit and hellblade2 far more because it wasn’t ideologically driven..."

Telling on yourself? That would explain why you've been so insistent on sticking by false claims about this game. You need to let it go. The case is closed and has been closed for a while now. You may not agree with the outcome, but this obsessive compulsion to relitigate it just because the game or someone involved with it is mentioned or given ...

That's a whole lot of deflection, conjecture, and whataboutism for something you acknowledge to absolutely be the case.

No offense, but it sounds like they got you.

You were initially annoyed, but now you're over it because they didn't go through with it after massive backlash. And hey, look, they did this thing with F2P that they should have done over a decade ago and could have done at any time independent of saving it to use as damage control. You're admittedly not the biggest fan of subs, but the panic they created caused you to rush to reup Gold for 2 years at the current p...

@Livingthedream

It makes sense if you consider the blatant money grab would have affected a smaller community of gamers if what you said is correct. The potential for success increases when the number of people impacted is reduced. It's not so much about getting people to pay more for Gold as it is pressuring them to join those of you paying for GPU.

No. You say "they listened," and that's the spin they'...

The brand was devalued when they tried their power play with the launch of the Xbox One. Say what you want about Phil, but he knows how to keep what's left of the Xbox base on the hook. Those core diehards he can get to go along with just about any position Xbox adopts.

Xbox lost the console war. Their new business strategy is console agnostic. The Gold Live price gouge would have only affected their console gamers. I suspect they had the "free to play" card ...

Right? Such balderdash. Xbox doesn't want money. Sully's talking like we're only having this conversation because Xbox just tried pulling a fast one to force Live Gold subscribers to either pay at least twice the cost of the 12-month subscription or shell out even more for the better valued GPU. The idea that Xbox might seek to recoup the costs of acquiring 3rd party IPs that were previously reliant on PS sales by continuing to sell them on PS is so far fetched as to be unworthy o...

The "annoyance" and the problem is how they conned so many into believing moves made to further Xbox's financial interests were pro consumer and about giving options, only to try blatantly undermining one of those options to the point that Live Gold only users would effectively be forced into buying a bundled Live Gold and Game Pass service they didn't want.

Some of us already knew that, but you can't tell some people, and still won't be able to tell them even after MS tipped their hand.

"How ironic, because i know your alt account, Septic."

That's not an alt account. It's the Septic account rebranded. You can see the comment history is Septic's.

I have to imagine they anticipated the possibility of the backlash received. Being so late to the party dropping the F2P paywall probably wouldn't be as beneficial to them on its own as using it as a parachute to save their reputation if the money grab didn't work.

Best case scenario: People go along with the increase. Worst case scenario: They have to reverse course and commit to eventually dropping the F2P paywall as a mea culpa pivot back to their pro consumer n...

Exactly. Do people really think they were just sitting around one Friday and came up with this on the spot? That they didn't anticipate the possibility of the backlash they received? On to Plan B.

They tested the waters. The brute force approach didn't work. This time. The same way the brute force approach didn't work for their pre-launch Xbox One intentions. All that means to them is they have to fine tune their messaging and do it the trojan horse way.

Gazondaily, F.K.A. Septic (check the comment history), just had to turn it into a shot at Playstation fans. SMH.

Xbox has really shown their behinds on a few occasions for the one major console manufacturer that has never won a gen, and has, in fact, never managed to sell more home consoles than Playstation's lowest selling. Imagine how they would act if they ever had the success of a PS2, a Wii, a PS4, a Switch. Or if they captured the market with a business model tha...

"People these days are such paranoid schizos."

Maybe, but it's not like scams are a thing of the past. This is super sus. If legit, it could have been handled in a lot more responsible way.

Owen was the moral center as much as there could be one. There were a few characters from that side I liked before I allowed myself to like Abby. Manny is probably the easiest to like almost immediately. Owen's girlfriend did come off as annoying, but I feel that has more to do with the perspective you're forced to view her through. She's not without a point. Look what all came as a result of Abby dragging her friends into her vendetta.
