MS has caught a lot of criticism over Halo. I can't think of anything else that rises to the "mascot" level to them, and even Halo isn't what it once was. Nintendo wouldn't have a Joel type mascot because Nintendo strays away from making those types of games. It's easy for Mario to be a mascot because he's a stagnant character without much character progression. Your comment is probably one of the reasons Nintendo doesn't make many narrative driven games.

That talking point gets thrown around so much, I had forgotten it was Tommy that dropped their names, despite having played it. That makes the trolling even more pathetic. Ellie dropped his name multiple times when they first met Sam and Henry when it seemed like they were enemies. He didn't chastise her for that. He went to sleep among them right after. They act like this wasn't the same guy who didn't bother using an alias the first game despite having admittedly crossed many pe...

Astro Bot is amazing.

Sony is dumb for not following behind the only one of the big 3 to shift their business strategy to the Game Pass model, the only one of the big 3 with a reputation for disappointing exclusives output, and the only one of the big 3 to never win a console gen? The Game Pass hype-aganda is off the charts.

"Does anyone really think Microsoft is going to be willing to share their GP revenue with Sony?"

That is the hang up. I'm sure they'd be okay sharing some depending on how much is coming in. It's all conditional and contingent on a lot of variables. Bottom line: They'll probably be world's apart on what they want to share and the cut PS would want if they were willing to consider allowing it on PS. I think a lot of it hinges on Xbox making GP t...

Not sure if it ends up on competing consoles, as those manufacturers have a say, but I do believe that's MS goal and suspect they intend to leverage their acquisitions to get GP on competitors' devices.

"Just gonna point out that hardware sales aren't the entire picture in terms of revenue... in fact they're usually sold at a loss."

Let's look at that picture. Consoles have a history of selling at a loss for the same reason people can get Game Pass Ultimate for $1 and all of the other deals and exploits on a, at most, $14.99 a month service. They make less profit or take a loss upfront banking on making up for it through profit from later sales once ...

1) And? Laskin made a false claim and challenged people to fact check that claim. I did.

2) People know what party Trump belongs to because he was the leader of the party. I don't think pointing out the leader of the party was the one doing it in the Republican example is a plus for whatever Laskin was going for.

@metalhead

The two people who disagreed at this point. I can't narrow down to a specific reason why people disagree with stuff here. People will disagree with a comment like "cancer sucks." I've seen stuff along those lines. Could be anything from trolls to people denying facts to protect the bubble they've sealed themselves in.

I have no idea how so many are reading that statement as MS is going to cut out PS for new games except for deals that were made prior to the acquisition.

Here's the actual quote, which is the only one from the entire blog that addresses exclusivity:

"With the addition of the Bethesda creative teams, gamers should know that Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC players."

Notice they said "some." More easily overlooked is the implication of "Xbox cons...

That's not a reliable indication of where one stands on the Holocaust. His motives in saying that could well be to avoid negative scrutiny of whoever was being compared to Nazis.

I think you are. The Aim controller is great, and that game was built to showcase it. (Always had a soft spot for FF8 btw.)

But GWG is a paid service. In fact, they recently tried to double the price for a year of GWG until backlash forced them to cancel those plans. You're saying if a paid service is having trash, that's because the focus is on a separate paid service. Got it.

Many, myself included, have an issue with GP, a rental service, replacing selling games as the primary business model for publishers and console manufacturers. You can review the reasons why, arguments for and against, on the same internet you used to bang out your comment. Probably what you should have done if you were generally interested in the answer to your question instead of crying "fanboys."

How much do you pay for PS+? Let's be real here. This is a AAA game being put on PS+ a year from initial release. That PS+ sub is being stretched across other monthly releases and discounts. Don't let GP fool you. That's being subsidized to attract subscribers for what Xbox is hoping becomes a sustainable, primary business model for them.

They probably figure it's easier to avoid toxic fan overreaction if they keep things simple and "samey." Can't really blame them, can we?
