Not sure if it ends up on competing consoles, as those manufacturers have a say, but I do believe that's MS goal and suspect they intend to leverage their acquisitions to get GP on competitors' devices.

The two people who disagreed at this point. I can't narrow down to a specific reason why people disagree with stuff here. People will disagree with a comment like "cancer sucks." I've seen stuff along those lines. Could be anything from trolls to people denying facts to protect the bubble they've sealed themselves in.
I have no idea how so many are reading that statement as MS is going to cut out PS for new games except for deals that were made prior to the acquisition.

I think you are. The Aim controller is great, and that game was built to showcase it. (Always had a soft spot for FF8 btw.)
But GWG is a paid service. In fact, they recently tried to double the price for a year of GWG until backlash forced them to cancel those plans. You're saying if a paid service is having trash, that's because the focus is on a separate paid service. Got it.
Many, myself included, have an issue with GP, a rental service, replacing selling games as the primary business model for publishers and console manufacturers. You can review the reasons why, arguments for and against, on the same internet you used to bang out your comment. Probably what you should have done if you were generally interested in the answer to your question instead of crying "fanboys."
How much do you pay for PS+? Let's be real here. This is a AAA game being put on PS+ a year from initial release. That PS+ sub is being stretched across other monthly releases and discounts. Don't let GP fool you. That's being subsidized to attract subscribers for what Xbox is hoping becomes a sustainable, primary business model for them.

MS has caught a lot of criticism over Halo. I can't think of anything else that rises to the "mascot" level to them, and even Halo isn't what it once was. Nintendo wouldn't have a Joel type mascot because Nintendo strays away from making those types of games. It's easy for Mario to be a mascot because he's a stagnant character without much character progression. Your comment is probably one of the reasons Nintendo doesn't make many narrative driven games.
