Phil's just worried the consumer will wake up and realize that Xbox live is the biggest ripoff in the gaming industry.

Sony is in a prime position right now. They just need to launch at the same time and at the same price point. Then I would attack the fact that after dropping a large sum on a new console, be prepared to pay another $60 for the ability to play online with an Xbox.
The Xbox really beat the PS3 out by having an arcade model selling very cheap. Consumers are looking for more bang for their buck today.

I see it happening if Sony keeps the PSN free in the next gen. Sony just needs to launch at the same time as M$$, and price the console just a little bit cheaper. Then just advertise how much better of a value their console is, and I think you might start seeing it outsell the nextbox.
The 360 really is a money pit when comparing it to the PS3. You have to buy Live, rechargable batteries, wireless adapter for the older consoles, a hard drive when you realize you really need one if you...

I loved my Dreamcast. Those were the days. 2k football blew Madden out of the water, and playing it online was awesome.

Its funny, I thought we bought the game, and should be able to do with it as we please. If Sony does this then crown MS the crown of next gen.

Used games are such a ripoff anyway. I never buy them. They go on sale at Amazon, Bestbuy, and other stores brand new cheaper than you can get them used. Look at two of the more popular games of the holiday's, BO2, and Halo4 were selling for $49 and $39 a couple of weeks before Xmas. That's cheaper than the $5 gamestop knocks off of a used game.

He's saying your already paying for internet, so why is Microsoft charging you to play online? Gaming is done on a p2p basis, so it is your internet connection doing the work, which you already pay for.
Netflix, facebook etc. are available apps that you are not charged for on any other system, br player, or smart t.v.'s.
It's amazing that Microsoft has been able to scam the public into paying for nothing for this long. I have to actually give them kudo's. It ...

Sony just needs to price their next console accordingly, and keep the PSN play online free, and then advertise the hell out of the value of their console vs Xbox, and that alone could for Microsoft to offer us Live for free.

The picture of that PS controller being blown up would also help. The controller came out with the original Playstation. They seriously need an update. It is very uncomfortable.

PSN allows me to play multiplayer games online for free. If you bought a 360 at launch, then you have paid $350 for Xbox live.

I love my desktop. Nothing beats sitting at my desk and looking at my 24 inch monitor.

Suicide for them to launch after Microsoft again.

Try and make it $50 less than M$'s new machine, advertise the hell out of the value factor (including free PSN VS $60 for xbox live), and Sony could regain it's dominance in America.

I haven't seen a game yet where the player shoots a bunch of 5 year olds.

Wow, that really cleared things up...

I'll still take a pass on it. I spent more time messing around with settings and trying to get a game to run right than actually gaming.

Wii U sold out? I can get it in every store that I have been in the last 2 weeks. Best Buy had stacks of them, and Walmart also had quite a few. This was on a Saturday afternoon.

Wow, and you don't even have to pay Sony for the Netflix feature.
