I haven't played the first Hellblade, but if I look at the entire walkthrough, it's not God of War. Combat is just secondary. You don't pick up items or choose between anything, just one sword to occasionally kill enemies with. It's a mystery walking/puzzle simulator where Senua struggles with her own thoughts. Definitely not for everyone.
Um...didn't PS users say they like to own their games? It shouldn't have affected sales...
What's so stupid about PC preference over consoles in EU?
You can make "less" game with "better" quality. The problem with Starfield is that they wanted to tick all the boxes at once and got burned. They could have easily left out 90% of the planets, base building and space combat. Add the latter later as DLC with more impact than it currently has. But that's just me. What do I know about game development?
I'll say it again. In Europe, it will be a difficult task to increase the sales of Xbox, because the people there hate the consoles because of their limitations. Since everything can be played on a PC, buying an Xbox makes absolutely no sense. If Playstation games were a PC, the people there wouldn't buy it either. Living conditions have improved so much in recent decades that having a decent PC is not a problem for anyone.
The initial plan is probably to stay at zero. First (this "first" could take 10+ years) get people to Game Pass by spending all the money they need. Microsoft and Sony's plan is completely different, one is trying to make a profit today while the other is in the investment phase and playing the long-term game.
They stopped making games a long time ago. Steam brings in so much money that it's really not worth the effort. Nowadays, people only look for faults in games, and spend more time whining on Twitter/X than playing the game anyway. Valve says a big fat no-no.
The EU is very PC oriented. People just have a powerful PC and a PS5. I know how things are there. If PS5 games came to PC on day one, no one would buy a Playstation either.
Steam prints them so much money that they literally don't need to make any more games. That's the only reason we don't have Half-Life 3 and other games from Valve. All developers would do this if they could find that one game or service. Gabe has to come up with the same excuse every time. He must have been wondering for years why you fools can't understand why there is no sequel.
Starfield didn't seem to make waves.
Makes Starfield like a mobile game. Especially the characters.
All I can say is that it's a niche game genre. It's not that easy to pick up the controller and start playing. You have to understand the mechanics and that takes time. Fewer people are interested.
It's actually shocking how you can fool people and get away with it.
Just some previous comments from your side (pony confirmed?)
1) glad I'm on Ps5 🥳🥳
2) I'm 30+ and only owned 1 Xbox console🥳
3) Why is Xbox still a thing?
If they keep it that way, it will hurt them more in the long run. You release something "as is" and keep it "as is". The studio has no dignity. The scary message would be that "you can release anything" and just run away. It's hard for you to understand, but that's why CPR is working so hard on Cyberpunk, so your latest project won't be such a damaging image for the studio.
You can't please everyone. There is always someone who is complaining. If 1 person out of 100 finds something wrong with it, there is no need to do anything.
It makes only sense to keep it exclusive to attract people to Xbox. If it also came to Playstation, it would make more money as a one-time release, but Xbox as a platform would still be left behind, which is not good at all in the long term. They want to sell you Xbox, not more copies.
Makes A LOT of sense. Reduces purchases of used games. Reduces production costs and time. The disc includes a copy of the wrong generation version of the game (still have to download). Everything is moving to the cloud anyway.
You can currently play Game Pass games on seven devices (SS, SX, PC, tablet, mobile, handheld and on a laptop). The FTC's case isn't as strong if you only exclude one platform (Sony) and call it monopolization. You only take away one device and you are left with 7 options for playing games. Nintendo is the only one to blame here, keeping all their games at 720p/30fps on one platform.
It's not even a remaster if it still runs at 1440p in performance mode. A remaster usually means a higher internal resolution. The only noticeable thing they increased was the draw distance. Everything else remained the same. The PS5 isn't powerful enough to remaster a game that already runs at 1440p, since most games already run below 4K.
