She's completely wrong. GP is a separate service and doesn't affect anything at this point. COD is released everywhere and you can buy it separately and play it however you want. If you don't like Game Pass, how does that affect gamers? I also believe that developers will get a fixed monthly salary (regardless of whether the game is on Game Pass or not). The only one who loses is Microsoft. But as they see it, they are investing in the future with GP.
The price would have increased anyway, which was already planned, with or without COD. They didn't lie about anything. You just misunderstood the answer.

I'd really like to see a short documentary about the development of the game and what went wrong. There were definitely too many QTE elements, both in shooting and melee combat. Maybe the game really didn't come together as planned. Beautiful world with dysfunctional gameplay.
Phil in 2021: Future Xbox exclusives will be available where Game Pass exists.
2025: Xbox games look better on competitive platforms where Game Pass isn't even available.
Microsoft doesn't make Xbox One vs Xbox Series copies separately like Playstation. Since they don't know which one you want, both versions of the game won't fit on one disc... just understand the situation and calm down. The future is also 100% disc-free...within the next 10 or 20 years...why delay it until the last minute?
People don't want Game Pass, and as Phil stated, people definitely aren't buying the specific system just for the good exclusive games. What should Microsoft do to increase console sales?
Consoles (as we know them) don't make sense for Microsoft anymore. They're in the process of rebranding the Xbox. I have a feeling the next "Xbox" will be some kind of PC... maybe where you can swap out the GPU. There are still a lot of people who prefer the console OS and controller/couch convenience.
No competition. They even raise the price and give you the same amount of memory.
Be thankful that the card has 16GB instead of 12GB, with "HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA" written underneath in small font.
PS5 doesn't make sense because most of the games can be played with Game Pass for $5/month vs. 70€/game on Playstation. Yes, Sony's first party games are full price on Steam, but really the only logical option is PC and Switch. Only Playstation seems to be the worst choice of them all.
If they had already earned enough, they wouldn't have ported any games to PS. This is a sign that Xbox has no or very little profit.
the bigger it is, the less there is to do.
Xbox is no more...it's just Microsoft Gaming. Play anywhere...with anything. Xbox is just "one" of many options to play. This transition has been so smooth that people don't even realize it.
No need to even listen to the fans, it becomes clear during playtesting that you need some kind of vehicle to get around.
Only the players can tell how ambitious it really was.
Since their main focus is outside of Xbox, the decline is to be expected.
No wonder the last system seller is still FH5...released almost 3 years ago. Game Pass isn't going to make people buy an Xbox, that should be clear to everyone by now. To achieve this, you need killer first party games.
People do not understand the situation at all. It was always meant to be more expensive than $15 a month...that decision was just postponed because they were waiting for a time when they could offer "one decent first party game" in the quarter. For Microsoft, it seems that time has come and it's time to raise the price to where it always belonged. "Greed" means something, they did "just because we can", but that's not the case. Some people just don't ...
They didn't even have anything to show for State of Play and Gamescom is a BIG event.
They are integrating everything into one platform (PC-like experience), that says it all. There is no longer a regular Xbox console, games are installed from Steam etc. on the next console/PC hybrid [if desired].
