He doesn't know anything about consoles. Gran Turismo was the only name he probably remembers from PS1 times. The selection has increased and he is not aware of it.
For me, the word "market leader" doesn't say much. Is it the best place to play? That's a subjective opinion, isn't it?
The Series X is definitely available everywhere:

There are a lot of people who don't know anything about Game Pass. To understand the value, you need to actually try it. I decided to try it with a kind of "Game !?.. whatever" attitude, years later after its launch. My old friend wanted to buy a PS5 and I asked why not a new Xbox? but since there is Gran Turismo, I said okay, just because of this game? "yeah", which is not even the best racing game between these two platforms. It seems to me that a lot of people behav...
to Aquafiniac:
You can get it cheaper ofc, but no 60 fps for Playstation.
Included in the Game Pass (sort of "free").
That's the beauty of GP, otherwise new games wouldn't be added. Physical games sit on the shelf and their value drops close to $ 0 over time. I'd rather pay cents, finish games, and move on with my gaming life.
Teflon02:
The problem with PS Now is that it doesn't offer you newer versions of games (even older releases).
to falconP:
How many optimized for PS5?
The GP has 55 games optimized for XSX.
PS Now: Need for Speed Rivals (2013)
GP: All Need for Speeds, up to Hot Pursuit: Remastered.
PS Now: Battlefield 4 only.
GP: 4 and 1 + 5
I'm not going to waste any more time on that...a few examples is enough. I could go on forever.
PS Now = only old games, not mostly, I mean only.
"Limited thinking". Some games leave so new games can enter, otherwise you play the same games the whole time.
UFC 1 and 2 will be replaced by Flight Simulator and The Ascent. UFC 3 will remain.
But still..so bad for you.

The point is, you need to compare PS+ (3 games per month) to GPU (383 games currently), because they cost the same.
The PS+ doesn't even give you PS5 versions of games.

Not true:

Around $ 150 for 3y (3 x $ 50 + $ 1 to convert).
You have to compare it to GPU, because they cost roughly the same. At least non-US codes for PS+.
Don't forget that you can upgrade your Gold to GPU for 1 dollar and it's no more just GwG. It becomes Game Pass Ultimate.
Well then ... PS+ is a joke.
The sad thing is that those who bought day one at full price suffer the most.
to MIDGETonSTILTS17:
The Gold conversion works, and everything you said about the price increase is an assumption, and it hasn't happened.
You can get 3 years of GPU for less than $ 150 (convert from Gold). After it expires do the same thing again. $ 300 = 6 years of GPU.
MS almost destroyed themselves with the last generation, what else did they have to do? Hoping for organic growth like PS does? Time is a crucial factor and they did what they had to do. The initiative is their newly formed studio, but it is not easy to find experienced developers to build 10 more similar studios (even if money is not an obstacle). Even the Initiative is a small studio ... up to 50 ppl. They barely got one together.
You can buy a Game Pass for 3 years for less than $ 150 (buy 3 years of Gold + $ 1 and convert into a GPU). If you play 15 games during this time, 5 games a year that interested you. The games are usually there for 1 year, after that they will cost around ~ $ 20/each after deep discounts. $ 150 for a Game Pass + 15 x $ 20 = $ 450 and you played all the games on the first day and you end up owning all of them physically. On the PS5, that makes a total of $ 1,050 (15 x $ 70).

The iPhone is the market leader in phones. An expensive phone is the least thing you need to survive. I'm starting to doubt people's choices, when it comes to supporting the market leader.
