im with you here. i own a 360 and a ps3, and bought a wii late in its cycle, simply because i was getting jaded and BORED with the so-called hardcore games like 3 gears of war, numerous call of dutys, uncharted, etc. so i honestly enjoyed alot of great hd games but came to the wii frazzled and couldnt shake the feeling that it was a shame that games nowadays had improved physics and graphics, but had lost that 'magic' or HEART. then i put mario galaxy on, while not even being a mario ...
mario galaxy 2 was not a new ip, and is regularly voted as greatest game of all time. you can innovate and improve on existing franchises.

did you know that for all nintendo's over reliance on mario, the last proper 3d mario on console, Super Mario Galaxy 2, is regularly voted the greatest game ever made? And while reviews are obviously subjective opinion, it seems that nintendo innovate as much as they re-use their mascot. Put simply, 25yrs of dump and the public would not put up with countless mario games. (ask sonic).

im still playing it to 100% it. i know it was hyped to the rafters wen first announced, and most thought it didnt live up to that hype, but i honestly think it is an amazing game, but one which demands your absolute time and attention. if u have a backlog of games and very little down time, forget about it. sure, you can fly through AC3 main story in a matter of hrs, but then you really are missing out on breathing in the history of the time, just going off on your own path between main story...

It doesn't need a relaunch, it needs games and preferably AAA first-party. I mean, even if alot of (casual) gamers still are ignorant of the wii U as a new console, the best way to remedy that is an amazing advert of say a new 3d mario or zelda which makes ordinary people, families, parents sit up and take notice with the realization that you can only play it on nintendo's NEW console. In essence, in order to play this amazing game, they have to purchase the console.
