Same here. Reminds me of Carmageddon and Interstate 76.
$599 isn't exactly embarrassing though.
$599 was actually a bargain considering what you got for your money. The first BluRay players were at least £800 and the PS3 came with a shit load of bells and whistles.
It was pretty hard for a lot of people to stomach though and it was only last year that Sony finally got into gear.
I'll put it this way. If I was to buy a top of the range laptop for $599 when all the tech inside it is worth close to $1000 ...
Killzone 3 hype has made me want to play Killzone 2 again and also very glad I didn't trade it in.
StanLee's right. Insomniac likes it's independance. The interviews have shown that so I doubt it'll happen.
If it is $150 it'll be about £150 here which is far too much. £60 to £70 is what I'd be willing to pay for it.
Yeh they can't help it.
Got it on Fri. It's amazing. It has everything a racing fan could want from any racing game.
Yep that's pretty much what people are expecting. Developing for it probably won't be any more difficult that it is for the 360 and they'll have DX11 to play with so we'll see some pretty good looking games for it.
Since it'll most likely be out before the PS4 I wonder if developers will continue to make games the same or whether they'll be using that extra power of the NextBox which will be so easily accessible.
Optimizing engine code is a part of maxing out a system. To say that using 100% of it's processing power is maxed out is just the way simple minded fanboys try to understand it.
It's not just optimizing it but an engine needs to be built from the ground up to work as efficiently as possible with that hardware. Even then, after spending time working on it and optimising it a developer could realise that he or she could come up with a an entirely new engine (using his o...
What he means is that it's unlikely due to future PS3 games being able to make better use of the system and as we all know it's not as simple as saying it is or isn't maxed out.
BTW he was talking about it's 'potential' which isn't quite the same as being maxed out since most peoples understanding of being maxed out is simply to be using all it's processing power whereas potential is about what it's capable of.
You're ...
'One of the things we’re striving for is a great deal of accessibility. That’s one of our lessons learned. We want it to be usable for a wider audience. We’re opening it up.'
Could this be a change in the controls?
edit:
'I’m very confident that when we come out with Killzone 3 we’ll come out with a game with controls that are very usable and very great to use for the majority of the group.'
'to me it was just a 3rd person shooter with minor rpg elements' yep that pretty much sums up ME2 but it's extremely immersive and the only thing that let it down was the final boss fight. More RPG elements would have been great though but they really went after the shooter crowd.
Anyone else prefer his hair the way it was before?
'Killzone 3 will never be the best shooter ever. The fanbase isn't there'
Right off the bat you're confusing quality with popularity. While it's true that quality games are popular in general quality has never been directly linked to popularity.
After that you continue to talk nonsense so I'm not going to bother informing you of why it is nonsense.
Yeah ya fool,
I actually went looking for it today for a friend to find that GameStation and Game stores in both Halifax and Bradford don't have any stock left. Add onto that the fact that Asda isn't stocking it at all due to some sort of beef with Rockstar and you'll realise it's a genuine issue here.
edit: Anyway, I managed to get a copy of the PS3 version on Friday and it's great. It's so much fun playing it. It's a shame about the sub-H...
Yeah there's a shortage here in the UK. Can't find it anywhere.
Nothing quite like sequel hype to get people back into the older games.
This is supposed to be the HD generation for cryin' out loud.
There's no way everyone who bought the game are still play the SP. Even in single player focused games you can usually find a decent number of people playing online.
He did say he's a 360 owner so you can't blame him for only being interested in an FPS game.
