I think it would be tough for anyone to come up with a new "Holy crap that was awesome" gameplay mechanic though.
There don't seem to have been any movies that have had the same wow factor that The Matrix did with its use of Bullet Time since then either.

I was under the impression the guys who made Max Payne used their idea in the game and came up with the name. :s

GTA has always been multi-platform anyway so I'd never really expect it to go exclusive.

A game where you play as Nazi's killing Brits, Americans, Jews and everyone else they went after would be a brig problem in the western world.
Plus, I don't think it would sell too well either. I don't think any parents would allow their kids to play such a game. Even if it was a mature rated game, people would be worried about what others might think if they were even seen playing such a game.
You're right COD4 probably did help bring the whole xp and unlocks thing to the console masses.
But you seem to be saying it's bad to be copying what others have done previously.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I seem to remember Medal of Honor being the game that help start off the whole WW2 shooter craze. COD was pretty much a clone of that but did it much better.

WWII games are played out against Nazis who 99.9% of the world's population sees as being evil so those games are widely acceptable in nearly all of the world's different societies.
However, I think that a game based in a conflict in Fallujah is going to upset quite a few people. This is because not all of the Iraqi's who died actually deserved to die (unlike the Nazis). In such conflicts it is highly likely that some people would have believed Saddam's propaganda and volunteered...

I loved what they got right in the previous game (the horse especially).

It didnt just do that though. It has pretty much defined the genre as it is atm (by that i mean the MMORPG genre)
Crank is a mindless action film with sex and drugs.
Personally though, I think it delivers and manages to be what it is quite well. It isnt much but it seems put together quite well. Its not an intelligent film in any way though.
I like to just sit back and watch some action every now and again while I surf the net so I'll be looking forward to the next one lol.

There is a difference between what is actually expensive and is priced accordingly and something that just looks expensive and is overpriced.

@krakdol : soda wasn't trying to say the 360 has the best games. just that the 360 for him (i.e. in his opinion) has the best games.
PS3 library cant possibly = the 360s since the 360 has exclusives. The only way both libraries could be exactly equal is for them to consist of the exact same games.
If you had said the PS3 library = 360 multiplat library + PS3 exclusives, then that makes sense.
