You guys in the UK might be interested to know that ASDA does a special offer on big releases (basically those that will sell like crazy. They didn't anything for Killzone 2 or any game they don't know will fly off the shelves).
Basically when it comes to games like the CoD series, they have 'em on special offer for the first day or two at around £28 if I remember right. For most games it's £38 for the first couple of days after which the price goes to normal.

I hope they can make this an amazing game but the image with the walking tanks puts me off. I remember that Mammoth from the second game. I wasn't too keen on it. I'll take great big treads any day

I love the 360 controller but a lot of people don't seem too keen on the D-pad. I've also got this problem where when I'm playing a racing game, the car keeps slowly moving to the left (or was it right?). The manager at my local Game store has the same problem with hers. Something to do with the analogue stick I think.
Isn't full 1080p a little too wide? Wouldn't that mean you'd have black bars at the top and bottom of the TV?
I'd prefer to have 1080p where the image fills the screen TBH.
edit: seems I was wrong lol. Someone mentioned the difference between 1080p and Full HD before and the image seemed much wider than 1080p. I guess I got confused.

I know what you mean and I kinda agree but aren't rally games like normal arcadey recers? i.e. not rally sims. (I don't play rally games so I don't know just how arcadey or realistic they are)
If a racing sim has rally as well it would certainly make the rally part of the game really interesting since it would be very realistic and not arcadey if you know what I mean.

About Steam though, it really is great. You don't need to have purchased a game on steam to be able to download it. I got UT3 and all I had to do was activate it on Steam. Now If I lose the disk I don't have to worry since I can simply download it :D.

Yeh the Source engine is getting old but it hasn't stopped Valve making great games. As far as I know there will be a new engine with the release of Half-Life3 which is a long long way off as we've not heard anything about HL3:Ep3 in ages.
edit: Also, I think the petition against L4D2 has led to Valve trying to win over people by making more for the game than was originally planned.
I doubt they would have been trying to make L4D1 content compatible with L4D2 until recentl...

Everyone knows what the word "exclusive" means yet they try to make it sound as if a game like Mass Effect is actually exclusive.
IMO there's no way anyone can say it is unless they say it's "console exclusive" which is true.
I don't know about the gold farmers but at least the rest have a chance of regaining a social life.

But for the masses I'll admit that consoles are the way to go. I can't recommend PC gaming to everyone since most prefer the easy option and for them it is usually the right option. After getting myself a PS3 I've realised just how good it is to not have to wonder how a game will run.

You do. I got Crysis and it's great but I also have Killzone 2 on my PS3 and it's just so much more fun than Crysis plus it looks amazing.
I duno why people are always comparing those two games when ones an open world game and ones a "closed world" i.e. relatively small maps. It's kinda like comparing a Fifa game with Fight Night Round 4
