Same could be said for games like Madden, CoD, etc.
What I go after is that people are hypocrites when they complain about hack 'n slash games, but not other ones they play.
Plus if you play them, they ARE different. Look at something like DW vs Kingdom Under Fire.

You're going to get disagrees because you missed the point.
Even if you jailbreak a phone, the company is still getting money from you because you're set up on a contract for phone calling. You "jailbreak" a PS3, you can effectively eliminate a company from gaining any amount at all to begin with.

Honestly though, it's sadly expected to see articles like this to pop up like clockwork now a days about games, considering all they're doing is just stirring up controversy by playing the "witty" side.
You know the fact that a few people disagreed makes it shows more proof that it's the possibility that they didn't even attempt to use the Other OS.

Because consoles are primarily used for gaming, not for making phone calls. You're still on a contract anyways with a company for calling through it and they're still getting revenue. The apps however are on an individual basis.
For a gaming console, the revenue is the same product that can be directly stolen.

Even then, the Other OS on the PS3 ran sluggish, and you were better off dual booting your OWN PC.
People always keep slinging about the Other OS here and there, but I can guarantee you that 90% of those people that sling that term around never even touched the functionality.

You're right. Some of them don't think things through on the long term. I can understand if this info was found, and then he reported to Sony all in detail about said information, that gives you a greater chance, than using said same information and just handing it out to the public.
They're kinda the reason why PSP got hurt a bit.
Same thing with Dreamcast. Mainly on that one it was from the company, but it didn't help from the fact that you could literally burn a game onto a cd and play it from there.

The thing is, while it's there choice, we should make it at least known to them that they don't HAVE to settle for it.
I at least managed to get one of my family members off from smoking. That doesn't mean it's guaranteed to work for everyone else, but at least the effort is there.
