For the record, Most of the popular new launch games aren't cheaper on PC.
Case in point:
RAGE = $59.99 on Steam
SKYRIM = $59.99 on Steam
MW3 = $59.99 on steam.
Black Ops was also $60 at launch, and so was Dead Space 2, Dragon Age 2, and Crysis 2.
No big deal, just sayin."
It's the fault of them pushing consoles' price point and them getting away with that.
<...
I do agree that it's nice that they did this. It's just that I felt they could have gone about it in a way that made it seem like it wasn't last minute. :p
As far as the IGN thing though, I'll be honest with you, I barely if at all pay attention to them.
And yea it's a shame this bubble system holds up how many messages you can give. Then again, a lot of stuff needs to be revamped.
"The facts are: 3DS early adopters get 10 free NES games and 10 free GBA games."
See this is the thing. I don't consider them free, because ambassadors paid $70 more in comparison to everyone else. So in a way people paid $70 for these games.
To be honest the ambassador thing felt last minute in terms of planning it with the price drop.
I think the notion behind it seems that they just rushed it out to try and keep those people about the price drop thing happy.
And the rest of the world didn't bat an eye at this and moved on with their lives...
It's funny, cause consoles were the ones that started that way back, even with SNES x Genesis marketing.
So no they aren't the most pathetic....
" lack of offline multiplayer support, those gamers will stick with COD"
"offline multiplayer support"
You REALLY think that's the bulk of their sales?...
@DeadIIIRed
And yet the irony is that a console is the same components as a PC, but geared towards gaming, yet same people rag on about PC gaming dying.
If PC gaming is dying, then that's BAD for consoles too, because that's no room for improvement, especially with tech.
"i was for sure this article would have been knocked and ragged on by everyone."
It's not a cash-in, and it's an interesting concept. :)
"The problem with Steam is that they shove their own games (i.e. Valve's games) down customers throats. From a rival publishers perspective, this is bad for business as they are helping prop up a rival in multiple ways. The first being that Valve takes a cut from each game sold through the service, and the second that just by having a game on the service, a rival publisher is effectively advertising for Valve as people will go to Steam to buy the game and then have advertising for Va...
"According to SEGA, Rise of Nightmares is going to offer plenty of hours gameplay for those gamers who like to see and do everything."
"when asked about the single player only experience game length, we were informed that to see and do everything the game has to offer will provide some ten hours of gameplay"
"single player.....ten hours of gameplay"
ಠ_ಠ
In all seriousness though this will hopeful...
@sack_boi
"I keep buying it because I still like it"
It's the same thing druggies say when they don't want to stop. It hurts them in the long run, but they don't care.
*reads Raven_Nomad's comment*
*Bangs head onto desk then wall x100*
He's not even hiding it anymore...
"Also we are on a game site talking about game stuff, why would anyone bring up "money for cameramen in films", or "mechanics for factories". That doesn't even make sense."
Yes it does, because they get screwed over just as much as devs do, so then why should people throw around that specific statement and act as if they are of a dying breed. I agree they should be paid for their work, but it's to the point that companies are getting cock...
What's with the misleading titles...This is off of a hunch/theory, as in no one confirmed it actually being accepted.
"We don't know if Toys R Us will honor the deal on the Gears of War 3 Epic Edition but that's a heck of a deal if you can get it."
@jeffgunz
And YOUR attitude would change when you realize the higher ups are the ones that gain this benefit, not the actual hard-working people.
Also this whole "money for the devs" thing really needs to stop. It's a job like everyone else's. If you're going to do this, then you should fight for "money for cameramen in films", or "mechanics for factories".
Might as well wait for the price of games to go down then if they are going to go this route.
I mean $15 was ok imo, but now $30?
It wouldn't be so bad if they stated what you're getting, instead of doing the "raincheck" method.
"Where is the AIM?"
You gotta do it yourself. No hand holding in the game.
"So if you were a game developer and made a game on the idea of it being a trilogy but its got so popular that fans eat breath your game are you just going to tell millions of your fans to f@#k off and let it die? "
Then don't call it a trilogy?
Tri = 3.
Are people really disagreeing with the literal meaning of a word? :p
You know at least the original poster had material to go on.
You...you just...yea...you took a complete random fire and missed by a mile.
