Same here. I played the game, completed the uh... singleplayer part and played about 20 or so matches of crucible and then I sold it. The game's terrible.
Well I for one am absolutely disgusted by Eurogamer trying to warn gamers that they might not want to blindly throw money at a game on the hype and trust that it will be good.
I mean yes, a lot of people who've played the game think that the gameplay is lacking and sure it's also lacking the expected cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes that the greats of the genre such as Uncharted & Gears of War have but well, I think The Order 1886 should get a free pa...
Funnily enough Uncharted 4 is another game that's "targeting 60fps" but currently runs at 30fps. Kinda like how DriveClub was "targeting 60fps" but ran at 30fps and unsurprisingly launched at 30fps as well.
It's almost like there's a running theme that every time a developer says they're "targeting 60fps" it ends up being a complete lie unless the game is designed and developed to run at 60fps from the very beginning.
Konami put out some official screenshot comparisons a while back and the PC version was a huge improvement over the PS4/XB1 versions. I don't think you have anything to worry about :)
Edit: Here's a screenshot comparison between PC & PS4. Looks like the PC version gets a lot of nice improvements! http://www.dsogaming.com/ne...
That's strange, I remember at the time what a huge deal it was since everywhere people were making a huge fuss about PS3 exclusives and how great they were. I recall a friend being impressed with Killzone 2 for example and being eager to try it out on my PS3, and of course everyone went nuts over Uncharted 2 and MGS4 at the time. N4G was filled with constant articles about how exclusives were saving the PS3 and people loved to champion them.
I guess all the disagrees must...
I don't think the PS3 would have bounced back from its disastrous launch if it wasn't for exclusive games like Uncharted 2, Metal Gear Solid 4 and God of War 3 enticing people. The console was getting destroyed until it had a solid first party lineup.
I've no doubt that's why the Xbox One saw 50% more sales than PS4 this month as well, because Microsoft has had to learn the lesson that Sony did when they were on the ropes, and cough up the cash to fund develop...
Agreed, I can't wait to buy this game either. I couldn't care less whether the game is actually enjoyable to play or not because jeez, look at the amazing quality of those graphics! 800p at 30fps? Amazing. What a time to be alive :)
Preordering games is always a bad idea, no matter how good they look like they might be.
I disagree, if a developer says something like this it's utterly disgraceful, particularly in the current climate of so many broken and unfinished games being released.
I'm willing to give David Jaffe a pass though because he's working on a PS4 exclusive.
The art style is nice, but the visuals and tech in general need a huge amount of improvements before launch. The sheer amount of pop-in during gameplay is hideous to look at and will completely ruin the game unless they find some way of eliminating it, which could be troublesome to do if everything is procedurally generated on the fly.
If they can get the game running smooth and remove pop-in it should be okay, but right now there's so much stuff magically appearing in fr...
I agree. There's no reason I can think of why anybody would be upset/angry with EA and by extension, Peter Moore.
Ahem.
Whenever a dev says that they're "aiming for 60fps" but put out a demo that's 30fps, the game ends up being 30fps.
None of them ever get it up to 60 unless it's running at that from day 1.
lol this "article" simply says there's a new patch and provides no other information other than a link to a post on another random website that's a month old.
Yeah. If Tekken went back to being PS-exclusive he'd have a point, but saying Street Fighter's home is on PlayStation is bizarre.
It's disappointing that Sony continued to fund Team ICO even though they haven't released a game since 2005, and yet dev studios such as Sony Liverpool and Zipper Interactive had a steady output of good games but were shut down.
Shuhei's overseeing of Sony's worldwide studios has a very heavy Japanese bias. He lets studios such as Team ICO and Polyphony Digital do as they please, but cracks down hard on their European and American studios, which is stupid.
Oh wow, now I'm being harassed by a couple of keyboard warriors hiding behind anonymity?! I'm going to report you two to the FBI and internet twat police. You think you can get away with saying mean things to me? You people make me sick.
Well on one hand making comments like that towards someone about their family etc. is obviously uncalled for. On the other hand however, Peter Moore is scum and it's hard to feel sorry for someone like him.

It's a shame that they only seem concerned with bugs as opposed to improving overall performance, too. It seems Xbox One owners don't have much to worry about there but the poor framerate on the PS4 version and abysmal lack of optimization on the PC version is really disappointing. Yet another Ubisoft game I won't be buying.
Don't worry, it'll come to PC as well :)
