You're definitely weak. Arkham Knight could end up being a disappointing or bad game, yet you'll have thrown all that cash down beforehand just because you hyped yourself up. Have you learned nothing from Watch Dogs, Titanfall, Destiny, COD Ghosts, Battlefield 4 and the countless other games that have been terribly overhyped?
Anarchy Reigns was absolutely terrible. Hopefully Platinum Games learned something from that, but then again the studio seems to be really hit and miss with their games. For every great title like Bayonetta and Vanquish, they've put out something terrible like Anarchy Reigns and Mad World. 50/50 whether Scalebound ends up good or not.
Now if only Turn 10 would implement dynamic time of day and weather into Forza Motorsport.
They're always eager to mention how Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsport use the same engine, so I'd hope that when Forza 6 rolls around we finally see weather and night racing integrated. Besides Turn 10 have it easy, Playground Games has gone and done all the work for them!
And this ladies and gentleman, is why the gaming media has come down hard on Destiny. Bitter journalists frustrated that they don't get to play the game before the general public does, and as such we suddenly start seeing very low scores from most major sites, obviously from mutual agreement amongst members of the press to punish Bungie/Activision.
It's absolutely hilarious that he didn't even finish making Minecraft, and he's just taken $2.5 billion and run without a single complete project to his name. I mean it's bad because gamers are so easily duped, but it's also hilarious because it shows just how stupid this entire industry is. He definitely did the smart thing, I'd take the money and run too.
...and so gamers begin hyping themselves up insane amounts over yet another game. You guys never learn.
All the hype I saw for Destiny came from people who played the Alpha/Beta saying that it was great. The game didn't get any more media coverage than any other title as far as I'm aware, the hype was player-driven.
Look at the comment sections and how frenzied the average gamer gets over any announcement, no matter how small. That's where all the insane hype for games comes from.
Case in point: People losing their minds are hyping the heck out of a...
He might not even have an Xbone? Just because the guy thinks the games and OS are lacking, you start jumping to some silly tirade about the Xbox? Don't be such an insecure fanboy, JonnyBigBoss could prefer playing on PS3/PC/360/Wii/whatever for all you know.
I wouldn't call it the best when there's features that the PS3 has over it. I'm still waiting for custom soundtrack support, for example. Disappointing that nearly a whole year since launch features like that are still missing, along with other things they were talking about before launch such as the whole suspend/resume thing. Hopefully those features come soon. I also miss how whisper quiet the PS3 was as well, my PS4 gets so loud and noisy with the fans that it's starting t...
Killzone 1 and Shadow Fall were really bad games in my opinion. Killzone 2 & 3 were fantastic, though. I really hope that their next game recaptures some of the magic they had.
The only good IP they have is SSX, and that's probably going to be left to rot for another decade.
It's sad that as disappointing as Destiny is, it's still without doubt one of the best games to be released so far during this console generation.
Chances are if you're buying a game published by EA, Ubisoft or Activision, it's going to be garbage. Will people ever learn though? Nope.
Watch as people forget all the problems with Battlefield 4 when EA puts out their new Star Wars Battlefront game. Watch people forget how terrible Watch_Dogs was when Ubisoft dumps The Division on us. It's a neverending cycle because gamers never learn.
Jesus...
If BF4 is the best then the fps genre is well and truly dead. That game has singleplayer so bad that it makes Destiny's campaign look like a masterpiece, and as for that broken mess of a multiplayer mode? LOL
Titanfall gets boring even sooner than Destiny, Killzone was a tech demo and COD Ghosts is well, it's COD, except somehow even worse than usual.
Bad time to like videogames.
Gears of War 3 is my favorite game in the franchise as well but there's something you need to remember about Rod Fergusson, he's the guy responsible for the stupid sawn-off shotgun and retro lancer being introduced to the game.
It's easy for him to talk about taking the franchise back to its roots, but some of us remember him being the guy who pushed it away from its roots in the first place.
The funny thing is that Destiny literally is Halo with different graphics and bigger levels. I'm not even joking here, it plays exactly the same, the controls and gunplay etc. are all identical. Go play Halo 3 or Halo Reach, and then play Destiny, you'll be shocked at the similarities.
I'd also say that the story is as jumbled and incomprehensible as Halo as well :p
Destiny is not a perfect game and there are plenty of criticisms that can be leveled at it, but by and large I think the low 6/10 review scores from the gaming press are quite frankly, complete nonsense.
They're criticizing Destiny for flaws that are rampant in many games that have been awarded much higher scores, and to look at the high review scores for games like COD Ghosts and Battlefield 4 from these same publications only makes these reviewers look utterly hypocriti...
People hate on Activision for Call of Duty, but I would definitely rank EA and Ubisoft as far worse by a huge margin.
On the plus side, at least the worst journos in the business are all collected on one easily avoidable website :D
