LoL has wild rift which is as close as your gonna get for now. I know when they got bought by Tencent, Tencent wanted a mobile port and Riot refused saying it was impossible, but some events happened to convince them otherwise and now Wild Rift is a thing.
What they fail to capitalize on with service titles, is that golden gooses are typically games that try to be interesting or a new experience without feeling bad to play. They focus too much on marketing and short term preorder new game hype and sit just magically expect people to bite the line. Like New World is entirely sold on marketing even though the game is objectively a terrible game. That's why it's playerbase dropped it so fast. There are plenty of studios out there that make...
There's this newer focus on making single player games for awards, merit, artistical achievement, and selling a console. The games themselves will sell a ton of units but obviously nothing like what a service title generates in revenue. Because the main revenue generated is pushed into mobile and service games now, so the console space is now sold on exclusives and artistical merit and good advertising for consoles rather then profit. Just for the record, Skyrim collectively only made $45...
I stopped liking them when they lost their talent and started pushing aspects of their games that have nothing to do with making them better to play. I don't like the fact the protest was focused on white men as a whole rather then the ones who did the acts. It just makes the whole protest a joke, because it's unreasonable, and the perps get away anyway. Acti just goes "Oh we're going to make half our workforce not white men" but the leadership will not be any different ...
I know he's intentionally dodging topics about the game itself and only referring to beta only elements that will never get fixed. He's in a shareholder meeting so of course he's never going to admit it was poorly received lest they lose stock shares. The closest you'll get is downplaying major problems or cherrypicked aspects that add nothing to the game. Like the simple fact he goes "On balance, the feedback from the beta was overwhelmingly positive" which is a fal...
I'd be afraid of them changing the charming aspects of the game for being too old or not in line with what Skyrim brought in. Like redoing VAs with different people, changing the way models look but also restricting everything in character creator to do that, or just rewriting quest dialogue for whatever reason. I can remember the Adoring fan, Glarthir, and the grey prince clear as day 15 years later, but in Skyrim I can only remember the guy you click a single option to buy him a drink i...
It's weird. First we had cheat codes, then they started removing them or charging for them, now they came back but as "accessibility options." They should add big head mode in most games too.
"Tencent has..."
Stopped there
"No this DRM we paid a lot for that has a long standing history of causing problems in games totally isn't causing problems now. Clearly it is these other system default applications fault even though they have no problems anywhere else. Please, trust us we totally have no conflict of interest in this, also buy our next Map Marker Collectathon sequel thats sold on marketing above innovation."
I remember they stated at one point that destruction was toned down after BC2 just because it removed most of the cover for infantry fights and it was a balance issue. The problem with that is the playerbase doesn't care if its fair or not because it was fun. Do you see anyone caring that operation metro chokepoint was so unbalanced that it needed to be removed completely? No, because it was fun to deal with giant cluster piles of chaos in the games. It's one thing for someone to hog ...
I can't believe a single website has this much influence over gaming culture to cause things like this to happen. Its not just this but many games won't even include certain music or alter writing, art, etc just to avoid a shoddy youtube algorithm.
This model of sunsetting content isn't the real issue really. The core issue is the fact the game tosses too much shit at new players at once to keep them busy, instead of organically unlocking content like other games such as XIV or Dragon Quest. The game treats everyone as if they have been playing since Day 1 even if they just logged onto the game for the first time 4 years later. It's way too overwhelming and they further worsened it by just removing all older content instead of r...
They have this design tactic where when they make a transgender or nonbinary character, they always make them look like either a normal man or a woman model wise, IE. no adams apple, clear feminine voice, etc. Then they can call them whatever they want and just change the pronouns in countries where it's forbidden. Only game I remember that did an accurate looking design for a trans person was Watch Dogs 2.
Well she didn't get born without genatalia unless that's some new barbie doll defect that hasn't been used as an excuse yet.

You forgot how marketing depicts her as that generic "care free but confident" personality that Marvel loves shoving into every character
On the Arabic version of the official site they just call her a she. They flat out made up words for the german and polish version to just avoid assigning a gender.
This franchise turned into a FOMO, MT ridden mess even after Acti left. Then they went even further and removed tons of content that F2P players could play. Now they have no choice but to play PVP or pay money or quit. Hopefully, more choose quit.
They tried to pull this stunt in Gears 5, by assigning specific abilities, traits, etc to each character in horde mode. Literally nobody liked it, they ended up changing it back some seasons later to how it was in Gears 4. Their reasoning for it was because they wanted players to attach better to specific characters, and make them stand out more, because as some have said, you are more likely to buy skins if you main a character. But they forget people will do that already without forcing it ...
What an ass
You have interested people in the game. All you have to do to make the interested people stay interested is post a few updates every month. Doesn't even have to be screenshots. Could just be a list. These are not random people, but the same people who invested in this game. The whole reason they even have MS bucks is because of what backers gave them in funding to develop a prototype that impressed MS. Now they just spit back in their face since they have su...
