I think with a study like this is has to be split by location, because the 'social activities' and habits vary by location.
Even though many things are generally similar, there are vast differences. Cultural differences etc...

In the UK the problem with sky player is there are not enough channels.
If you have the new slim 360's they are dead quiet, and I have left mine on for 7 hours at a time. When multiple football/soccer matches are on 1 after the other..

I agree that P2P is not the best solution, but its probably got to do with running costs.

No its not that they RROD, the ebay/craigslist xbox's are more likely to be banned from xbox live because they were modded.
RROD has gone down significantly, but I guess people cant let it go even when it doesnt effect them since they only have a PS3.
OR you could wait til Christmas when there will be a sale on them. OR buy a new console but of an older model to cover yourself in the warranty area.
In a case like this, the reason game devs do it is to try and balance the game if they find a gun to be too powerful.
An INI file can allow simple damage changes caused by weapons etc...
Where as a patch would fix graphics issues, threads colour, lighting and some bugs to clean the game up.
They could still use a patch to change weapon damage, but if there is a massive outcry like with painkiller, it can be done remotely to get a 'hot fix' in place to stop peop...
BO and WaW could be updated without a patch...
Its an INI file which gets updated, look at black ops top right corner to see the latest version of that file.
Its not new tech, treyarch have used it for some time, for some reason MW2 didnt have it.
MW3 will, I think I read a while back that gears will have something similar
but they made a comparison..

the premium elite sub = $49...

For MW2 I didnt buy the DLC because they just remade old maps, but for someone who buys all the DLC its probably worth it.
And there are daily competitions to win actual stuff..

That series is a great series, Ive been waiting soo long for a new game to be announced...
theres are quite a few games that go mad with DLC..
Like need for speed hot pursuit, within a few months there were 5 DLC packs out there.
We all know how call of duty milk it,
I just buy DLC for games that deserve it like the GTA's etc....

but they said if people are leveling each other up its ok...SO players can boost as long as it doesnt interfere with live games...WTF, boosting is cheating isnt it? since you try to get points and stats.
On another note, I hope this is true because MW2 got a little insane with boosters, black ops really did address this, but in some cases they took it a little too far. I know a few people who are insanely good and they had some insane stats and poitns but black...
I regularly play with friends on both consoles..
On both we use mics, but on the 360 we can go into party chat if we dont have enough people to fill a team up because we would be hearing other people talking..Its easier than muting them.
On the Ps3 we do have to mute, but both consoles its the same...
I will say the xbox game/party chat is of a better quality, but maybe thats what sony should work on rather than X game chat??
I am 99% sure MS will never pull out, but I like how the person answering the questions (Chris lewis) is
"Microsoft's European boss" giving the answers, not the regional manager of the area. This way he cant go into specifics but all he can say is We will not pull out and its a challenge for us to get a foothold. If Eurogamer asked the same question a MS spokesperson would say the exact same thing.

Lol you havent played black ops long enough. As with most games it can be frustrating but black ops is no fun after a while. Mw2 you could get spammed with the cheapest tactics but you could do the same back. Mw2 was not a good game by any means, due to it being soo over the top it was fun..Black ops is sort of lackluster. Its a shame because treyarch have seriously supported that game, there was 1 known hack for auto aim where it instantly locks onto another playe...
I really dont get the hate...Yea I agree kinect isnt my thing but there are many people who are satisfied with what it can do.
Move isnt exactly amazing is it? Its a copy of the wii controller, but the level of hate that fanboys create is pointless. Ive got both xbox and ps3 and MS have an insanely good marketing team compared to Sony. Im sure with the PS3 price cuts already rolling out MS are going to drop the price of the xbox and probably the price of a kinect bundle.

Mw2 didnt only have problems on the ps3, the 360 was just as bad if not worse.
I think its gotten to the point where call of duty is just boring.
I might buy mw3, but I am definitely buying battlefield 3. (ive already pre-ordered it).
Mw3 is still a 50/50, I think most people have seen how bad the support for mw2 was. Black ops has been supported really well, but they've taken all the fun out of that game. It far better than mw2 but its just boring.
MS will drop their price.
The next gen is closer than we think, technology is moving so fast these days. Im sure by the end of 2012 we will have more info about the next consoles.
