It was a joke, sorry if that wasn't clear. I have come across quite a few 1-1 remakes, though...
Congrats Nintendo! This game just blows me away, it manages to make level creation feel fun, whilst other games that have done level creation usually feel like work. They deserve those sales.
Too bad 2.1 million of those stages are 1-1 remakes ;)
B is the jump button...
Jokes aside, this game is amazing. I'm finding that I get inspiration to make levels from all over the place, it's really amazing.
I agree that AI is where games need to develop, but it's just so much easier for companies like Ubisoft to slap in cheap AI that has three rules it follows.
If player character is (seen) -> head towards and attack
If player character is (unseen) -> head towards (last location)
This kind of interaction really annoys me. I want to see AI collaborate, think, understand that perhaps walking around that corner alone after two of your teammates d...
@number7
I'd say they're the only publisher the consistently produces games worth playing, with many (around half) being considered masterpieces.
Other publishers might produce a better game, but they won't produce a better game every time.
They're really number one if you count handheld hardware anyway, but nobody does. They choose to focus on the home console hardware sales because that is the ONE issue Nintendo has at the moment, and that is incredibly impressive if you ask me.
If a dev consistently makes good then they should have the revenue to make their next game anyway.
I can see them being used to quickly swipe between menus.
So the triggers are scrolling wheels? That's interesting, I wonder how they could translate that into gameplay.
One percent of a million is still a lotta good levels, I just wish Nintendo would adjust the sorting options to help find those levels.
Awesome! Free stuff is always welcome, especially when we've had to wait for it
It would have been Nintendo Direct time a while ago, so I think we might be getting something of the like soon enough.
Either way the map is a copy of the Splatoon map Arowana Mall.
That would be awesome, maybe a future sequel with have 3D levels as well as the same 2D ones we already have. For now, I'm satisfied with Super Mario Maker 1 though :P
That's because there aren't any other game serie' as successful as Mario.
I would say LittleBigPlanet allows you to make levels, but it's not nearly as intuitive as Mario Maker.
I liked the premise. It still has an unlock system, except now it doesn't make you wait a day after playing for long enough to get the new stuff, and I think that is a better system.
Good patch, sucks that it came after some reviews already docked points from it for this.
Honestly you shouldn't need an ethernet adaptor for Mario Maker, I've heard the downloads are instant whether you're on wifi or ethernet, and there's no online play so ping shouldn't be an issue.
Looks pretty good, however there is just something about all the grass textures that I find severely off putting.
Perhaps a new format of disc based media will come out soon enough that can compete with the read and write times of say, a flash drive, but for now it looks like discs might be replaced with cartridges in the next few generations (I don't think physical is going anywhere).
