directx11 is the worlds most advanced api and its owned by Microsoft(it outclasses opengl 4.1). all pc games use directx and ALL games ps3/wii or 360 are first developed on pc so they already hold the future of gaming DEVELOPMENT in their hands, future of gaming itself not really there is still sony and nintendo to contend with as console gamers make up majority of the gaming community to top it off the xbox brand is fairly new compared to the playstation and Nintendo brand

could be the price point is good but nintendo is better known in the handheld market. but the same might not be the case for ps4 as high end hardware is expensive and of course sony would want to start bleeding edge same goes for ms but they have the deepest pockets in the world so they could easily shoulder terrible losses till their next gen hardware becomes profitable.

ps3 fanboys are in denial AGAIN!gears 3 clearly takes this but the uncharted 3 beta is obviously an old build so the final release should look better(same can be said for gears 3). we'll see when both games release

sony will probably use the cell again for backwards compatibility but they will have to use nvidia or they'll be no point using the cell again because nvidia will never give them the rights to emulate the rsx(just like they didn't give ms the right to emulate xbox 1 gpu). intel currently leads in transistor tecnology with their 22nm tri gate transistors so microsoft might choose them over IBM as they can use ivy bridge and larrabee cores to create an APU or they can just use AMD cpus...
