you are truly ignorant. console manufactures contract gpu manufacturers to help them DESIGN a gpu then the console manufacturers manufacture the GPU themselves(using microchip manufacturers such as global foundries and TSMC) pay loyalties to the company that designed the gpu on each console sold. therefore console manufactures can get gpus for their consoles MUCH cheaper than we do, aside from that you do know that mass production reduces costs right ?

3d is a gimmick on CONSOLES as they can't handle it properly. the 3d used on consoles is not true stereoscopic 3d except in black ops and GT5. true stero 3d cuts framerate in half because each frame has to be rendered twice. but fake 3d is always MUCH MUCH cheaper and doesn't look much different from the 2d versions just that you'll need 3d glasses to view the image correctly.

MS WILL allow sony use directx11 if sony asks which they probably will because directx is now far superior to open gl(john carmack from ID said this HIMSELF). because consoles are WEAK and outdated. We are yet to see cryengine 3s full potential because crysis 2 pc was a console port remember ? wasn't built from the ground up for pc first ten ported down. now sony must decide which to support, origin or steam. EA already favors sony because MS sided with activation(EAs arch rival) but if sony continues to support steam it may damage their relationship with EA. I'd love to see how this turns out anyways.
