the hd radeon 4870 is about 10x more powerful than the graphics processing resources of ps3/360. you are only considering THEORETICAL numbers and not architectural improvements as well. the 4870 is architecturally far superior and FAR more efficient than what you have on consoles its indeed about 10x more powerful when every aspect of its architecture is factored in.
a gtx 580 is about 30-35 times more powerful than what you have in consoles in real world performance so if so...
but with rage fully installed on 360 it should load faster)than the ps3 version(but would require 21-22gb of free HDD space) because the ps3 version only has a partial mandatory install.
360s with harddrives will also load faster than those without because the HDD will be used as a secondary cache but not as fast as the ps3 version because the ps3 version will have some parts of the game stored on the harddrive
whichever console maker buys take 2 wins next gen.
thats one of the reasons you consolites are so IGNORANT about game development and technology in general and fail to realize that our consoles have been obsolete from a technological stand point since 2006 when the core 2 cpus launched as well as the geforce 8 series gpus.
how many people have internet connections fast enough to stream high quality games(like games with Samaritan tech demo graphics)? its NOT going to happen anytime soon internet bills will be WAY too high!!!! don't even think such bandwidth is available for commercial use today.

most studios prefer to be independent(free) that way they can do whatever they want however they want make exclusives(by signing exclusive deals with console makers) AND multiplatforms that way they make maximum profit possible.
its obviously because they make so much money from Nintendo platforms but I bet the make just as much from 360 because of long histoty of splinter cells success on Microsoft machines as well as 360 usually leading in multiplatform sales. another testimony to ubisofts love affair with microsoft is the ghost recon future soldier 360 only beta that's coming in january 2012

the only good studios MS has is turn 10 and 343i(they have talented employees that have worked on MGS, killzone, metroid prime, some ex bungie staff etc). I know gears is exclusive to 360 but epic isn't a first studio so they still don't count.
