Companies change plans all the time from previous claims. It isn't limited to just Microsoft.
So you need to take each claim from a company as a case by case basis.
And looking at this "Microsoft is getting out of gaming" objectively. If Microsoft wasn't serious about gaming why would they be spending millions on R&D for a new console launching in 2017? Just doesn't make much logical business sense.

This games seems more about exploration and discovery then epic battles.

It's obviously a more budget title, which doesnt mean it's a bad thing but it also explains the $40 price point.
Not really, you need more then one game that excites the interwebs to really turn your hardware division around. No doubt it will sell millions
And at the very least it's a good launch game for NX.

In theory I can see how this unification could work out good in the long run.
About a year from now we'll see if this new direction for xbox is working out.
They're actually adding smaller ships for one or two person crews.
Microsoft needs to give this game the time it needs. Don't rush it to the market and it could be a big new ip for them.
Scorpio is a long ways off I wouldn't be surprised if it slightly changed.
Neo is still up in the air..... a lot of rumors suggest 4.2TF..... roughly but not there been new rumors floating around that they're upping the hardware specs.
So who knows at this pint.

This game had the best onstage demo at Microsofts Conference.
Something that's very weird is, they say this game is in early stages, but Sony Bend hasn't released a game in like 5 years I believe.
You have to wonder what have they been doing,
They're lucky they're with Sony because Microsoft would have shut them down at that pace.
If it does that means they're probably committed to the hardware specs.
I'm very curious to see how powerful it is.

Or delay the launch to 2017 and up the specs so make it more inline with Scorpios.
