The reimagining of FF VII is turning into one of the biggest train wreak in SE history.
"I have altered the game, pray I don't alter it any further"
-Darth Vader speaking on behalf of Square Enix
"I'm liking this game less and less"
-Lots and lots of fans
Whelp, what little interest I had after seeing the game play and with this news, Persona 5 is signed sealed an purchased!
I feel like Nomura is Darth Vader going "I have altered the game, pray I don't alter it any further."
@Lennoxb63
No I'm not and if the news about it being episodic is true, HAHAHAHHAHAAH oh god no I'm not touching that game with a 39 1/2 foot pole.
Actually after seeing the battle system, I'm safely skipping it and purchasing Persona 5.
@ninsigma
So turning it from a turn based/ATB game to an action RPG doesn't qualify as a genera shift?
By your own argument it is a reimagining then.
I'll just buy Persona 5 then. Good old turn based combat there. Was debating waiting for this or Persona 5, Square just made that question a lot easier with that generic ARPG crap battle system.
Good job square, my hype for this game just died.
Only thing worse then an Action based JRPG is a Western RPG.
REmake had the same way you play the game with just updated graphics and minor mechanics change.
This shouldn't have been called a remake but instead it's a reimagining.
I personally think they're pulling a Cartmanland effect. To clue in people who hasn't seen South Park, one of the characters comes into some money, buys a theme park and bars it off from everyone and rides all the rides himself. Eventually people wanted in and he had to get a security guard to keep people from getting in but had to pay him each day so he allowed just a small number of people in. That started a line of people wanting in and waiting to get in each day. As time went on h...
I also boycotted it,
No space battles?
No clone wars? (Say what you want about the movies but the battles were awesome)
No single player?
it has less content then the previous games.
@kaleb
If they make it action based and not turned based, I legit wont buy or play it.
If you think I will, you're wrong.
By your own logic Western audience wont like Final Fantasy anyway since it's seen as turn based anyway. I can't even convince friends of mine that FF XIV or FF XV isn't turned based because it has Final Fantasy in the title. What would you do about those people?
Face it, in order for it to sell, it needs to please the people who originally bought and loved it, not the children of today who are into flappy bird and angry birds.
I agree, the closer they keep it the same the better. If they change it, they shouldn't call it a remake. No other remake of a game changed how it's played.
If the intent is to change it, then they should never have called it a remake, instead it should be called a imagining.
I wouldn't buy a re-imagining of FF VII, there's no point to it.
Right and lets pretend that no one liked the original combat system. They need to keep the original combat system with little to no changes.
What's the point of calling it a remake if they change the core game play? no other remake has done that. If they do change it, it shouldn't be called a remake but a re imagining.
If they do change it, they will lose a boat load of sales and it wont sell as well. Today's kids don't like Final Fantasy or ...
Does a phone come with an easy to pick up and play controller? no it does not.
Is playing online games over cellular services viable in any way? no it is not and it would be hella expensive due to most companies not having an unlimited data option available.
Playstation Now in its current form (to my knowledge) is limited to SONY phones which currently the Experia Z5 is the latest one which is at least $200 - $300 more than a damn PS4 which comes with a contr...
Consoles arent going anywhere kid. Mobile gaming is for flappy bird and angry bird type games. Not epic long fully fleshed out games.
GONNA NEED SOMETHING BIGGER THEN NUKES.
CALL IN THE DEATH STAR!

>3rd birthday
>Final Fantasy XIII train wreak
>Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 release
Following the trend, I only expect failure from SE now days with occasional success (FF XIV ARR)
