Sony is a world class, respected, visionary hardware manufacturer and we shouldn't forget that.
Remember that when we talk about the merits of a particular game console and it's manufacturer. The fools will judge a piece of hardware based on the games exclusives on it.
Good hardware is good hardware. Likewise software and vice-versa.

Important 3rd Party developers like Epic know that 2008 is the year to release their games for the Ps3
I'm expecting more delays from others in the know.

We all know that 2008 is going to be the year when everything changes....even game developers.
I'm thinking Epic knows something happening around Xmas.
PRICE DROP ---> LARGER PS3 OWNER BASE ----> GREATER GAME SALES ===> GREATER PROFITS

Better the original game like Killzone 2 will do.
I really, really want to see the explosions and rocket trailers from the 2005 target trailer. They were simply awesome to see and should be easily achieved.
Likewise, to be able to shoot from the Intruder at the Helghast below before landing.
It's many small things like these that will make Killzone 2 rock.
For sure even with CoD4 being out there.
The xbox is well known for its large fps fanbase.
The playstation has a diverse owner base - just like its games - and likely to have nowhere near(percentage wise) as many FPS fans.
So UT3 will do respectable sales but will do much better on the xbox 360.
For me, at least:
* Single player mode - with a training level and wicked bot AI.
* comprehensive map maker - user created content means unlimited gameplay.
* vehicles - did someone say Elephant please?
* more destructable environment
Having a cash rich monopolistic owner/manufacturer << Microsoft >>.
Money is no barrier for greedy little Billy Gates who will buy the necessary companies, 3rd party developers and exclusives to MONOPOLIZE the game console industry as they have with Windows on PCs.

If the 80G is to be the sole SKU then it's about time to run out the 60G stocks like they did in North America.
This will be done with bargain packages - possibly including newly released games.
That will get rid of all the old stock(incl controllers) and increase the ownership base for the AAA games and rumble coming in 2008.
But if a stock runout is the Big Bang then that would mean a PROPER WORLDWIDE PRICE CUT by Xmas would be unlikely.

You can easily conclude special package deals(with free controller, games, films etc) as we have already seen.
Sony's going to drop the 20, go up to 80, drop down to 40 and still keep the 60G Ps3.
Julius Caesar, the reasoning of some people. Last thing I heard, Sony's trying to reduce costs. Having one SKU is one way to do it not three.
A future Play-mote would be just a regular controller chopped in two but each section has six-axis and rumble. Actually, you should be able to click them apart to use like a wii-mote or snap them together to use as a traditional controller.
You'd still have the analog sticks, D-Pad & R1,R2. But developers will have the freedom to programme their games to utilize - or not - the wii-mote functions in gameplay.
That's how I envisage Sony's version of the Wii-mo...
The Wiimote idea is no novelty.
The two-handed, motion sensitive, rumble controller is the controller of the future.
It's not perfected in the wii-mote but likely to be copied EEEEVENTUALLY by Sony for future playstations - Sony is already dabbling in it with six-axis.
And for all those old-school gamers who like holding a single controller in their hands like a granny:

These 40G rumours are ridiculous....as much credibility as MGS & FF going to Xbox 360 or PGR going to Ps3.

Especially after the review of Heavenly Sword .... 7/10. You read it and you clearly can see that the reviewer has some angst with the Ps3.
