I was just about to post the same question... Strange, he is usually one of the first people to post a wall of text in a Nintendo thread. Surely he is sharing in the good news.
I know how you feel...Im waiting patiently to fill up my 256GB EVO.
I really don't know, but it's possible. Also it would be really cool if it happened.
@Abizzle
Thank you for the intelligent reply. I posted A link to a video of PC ports running on the Shield TV, because if a picture is worth a thousand words, a video is worth even more. The reasoning behind being vague is that nobody knows how modern of a game will run on the switch. The Switch is a solid platform that uses arguably the highest performing mobile hardware that was available to Nintendo at a competitive price when they decided to go forward with the Switch....
Seriously dude, self important much? Really, who are you? PC doesnt have a generation for games so stop trying to console-ize PC. I can play games released 15+ years ago without an HD remake, simply because games dont have generations. Man, you make alot of very flawed arguments based solely on your ill-informed opinion and nitpicking semantics. I'm being nice right now.
Also, there is no need to be specific when I posted a link to a video showing.... wait for it... 25 ...
@Edmix
I perhaps gave you too much credit when I expected a reasonable consideration. Last gen or not, they are still full on PC ports and most of 5hem playing at 1080p 60fps. You're argument that it's too weak to play more modern console games is ironically weak as well. It's no slouch for a mobile and no doubt it will get games third party or otherwise. Come back to my comment in a year and let's continue this discussion. Or are you just adamantly against ...

Not powerful enough, eh?
Seems like if the game is optimized and properly compiled, the same hardware in the ShieldTV can run PC ports at 1080p 60fps no problem.
The Switch runs the X1 throttled gpu clock settings of the Shield TV (768mhz under sustained load), and we still don't know for sure what the CPU clocks are. We n...
So it's an octacore that functions as a quad core? Interesting to say the least. I saw the chipworks x-ray of the chip, and honestly I'm psyched to see what they can accomplish. As a mobile device it is very powerful, but as a home console its only triple the Wiiu and less than Xbox one if I understand correctly.
Still, considering that the shield TV can run PC ports at 1080p 60fps (with higher cpu clocks), I'm stoked to see the switch runs not only popular API...
That may be where you and alot of other gamers disagree. In order to be a great game, it's simply not necessary to bring something new to the genre or redefine the genre at a macro level. Seeing how there is no such thing as a "new" idea it is imperative to have more realistic and consistent standards in order to asses a title's value to the industry moving forward. More importantly, how does it stack up as a Zelda game seeing as Zelda goes back 40 years before anything on t...
Ironically, Zelda pioneered the open world adventure genre and made it popular. The only other game from that time credited with being open world was Mercenaries circa 1985. I suppose you could call metroid open world as well.
Considering that the Zelda series is basically 40 years old and the grandfather of modern open world games, one could easily argue that every other open world game is borrowing something from Zelda.
It needs to be said that although...
@Foxtrot
You don't know me either, it's better that way. Also, I don't have to know you to read what you wrote and tell you what it sounds like to other people, again you aren't me so don't assume you know what my motivations are.
As well, I started my comment with the tone of respect for dissenting opinion, you started off with assumptions and accusations. I'm not here to argue, just to inform you that it sounds like you missed ...
@Foxtrot
You are entitled to your opinion and I respect it, but I strongly disagree. Judging by your complaints, it appears that you haven't even played Breath of The Wild.
There are a host of completely harvestable flora and fauna, with both predator and prey animals at play, there are also unique animals and creatures depending on the climate of the area. Birds, bugs, amphibians, fish, reptiles, predatory animals and prey animals, they're all th...

Performance needs to improve if it can through patching, which I think it can, but otherwise not too shabby for a third party launch title on a new system lacking mature dev tools. Performance seems to be backwards with higher fps at higher resolution and lower fps at lower resolution. I can't fault the dev as the tools and dev environment are fairly new and require engine level optimizations that the budget unfortunately must not have covered .
Yeah, I remember. GTA IV was 640p on PS3 with many dips. There were many examples of subpar performance during a generation that according to Sony was supposed to be focused on 1080p/60fps gaming.
I understand what you mean, but I think it comes down to being able to effectively convey the value of purchasing something, marketing yes, but is it necessarily inaccurate, no. Arm processors of today are far more efficient, though using different feature and instruction sets than PPC processors of the past. When it comes to gaming, they are surprisingly capable, though core for core, they lose out in IPC versus desktop processors. The Tegra X1 or X1+ in the switch (assuming X1) is quite cap...
Also, there were numerous reports of Nintendo internal documents stating that the clocks in portable mode had been increased by 25% prior to launch.
Pretty sure after reading the comments that the system simply chooses the sd card if mounted or the internal system storage if no SD card is mounted. The update definitely occupied space on my SD card.
Its slightly more powerful than a WiiU in portable mode, but docked mode it's much improved. The Wiiu is 352 GFlop/s on the GPU side with 3x 32 bit PPC CPU Cores running at 1.2 Ghz, the Switch is 1000GFlop/s when docked with 4x 64 bit cores running at an alleged CPU speed of 2+ Ghz, assuming it is a Maxwell SOC (GPU die shots have a different identifier than Shield TV Chips) so we still dont know what is in the switch for sure. Regardless, from a purely theoretical perspective, the switc...
Just going to leave this here and ready myself for a big argumentative wall of text in response. Also, very strange assumptions since other editions of Skyrim are rated M and Skyrim is coming to the switch....unless it's somehow censored. Don't forget Binding of Isaac already on Switch is rated M.
