I find it interesting that the wiimote is in the pic when it didn't even have enough practical uses to carry over to the wii U. Nintendo is just about creating fads rather than creating things that people actually need in gaming now. I can guarantee this tablet idea won't make it to the next generation either.
Content patches are good because a game without any glitches is pretty rare these days, so it gives devs a chance that they did not have before to fix those glitches.
DLC is a mixed bag. It can be milked and exploited, but a few studios have been able to use it to add meaningful expansions to their games.As of now, it's pretty abused, but it's not a complete negative.

The amount of people that are a part of actual hate groups in america today only numbers to 50,000 at the most in a nation of 300 million people. Madword, House of the Dead, No More Heroes, and Manhunt 2 all sold terribly on the Wii for reasons I mentioned already. Nintendo has always marketed to the casual family audience (green blood, anyone?) and they won't buy anything that doesn't seem family friendly or unaccessible for thier children. That's why M rated games always fail on nintendo consoles and they can't get serious adult game companies to back them.
A Wii U port will never happen. Not only is this game far too hardcore, but it is also way too dark and gritty for Nintendo's base. It would be the worst marketing decision ever to put a game like that on a Nintendo console.

Yeah, that is why I gave up my dream of being a dev a long time ago. The big names in the industry right now have a monopoly on gaming and no new faces can get in because of that. As gaming costs rise, only the ones who have made enough money to pay for it will be the ones making games in the future. I can imagine a world of maybe 10 top devs in the next 20 years and there won't be much room for employment for them.
We should care about progress. If tree hugging bullshit gets in the way of that, then it needs to go. This whole "green" thing is just a scam to get the government to invest into alternative energy companies that are not sustainable in the free market without government funds. Nintendo hasn't been next gen ever since they adopted the Wii name. Gamecube was the last console they put any effort into. I still like nintendo for handheld minigames on the DS, but I have lost all respect for them in the home console market because they just don't try any more.
Looks like nintendo finally hit the current gen. Now they can compete with 360 and ps3 much like the original Wii competed with the PS2.

Kotaku is right for once. Home lost its authentic feel when they started bringing in all those cosplay costumes, so now it looks like one big costume party. The locations are not much better, either. I wish they didn't go so over the top with it. Everything feels so fake in Home now. The ads every 10 feet don't do much to help with that either.
