I’m tentatively hopeful for this. Love Bioshock. As far as the narrative Legos we shall have to wait and see. The early trailer for Infinite showed off a lot of stuff that didn’t make it into the finished product, and Levine is notoriously difficult to work for, so if this narrative stuff makes it into the came will be curious to see how impactful it is. I’d be fine with something more in the vein of the first Bioshock. Not much like that now, especially since Arkane’s fall from grace.

I’m really enjoying the game itself, but their engine isn’t really fit for task for an open world game, so performance and visuals are pretty subpar. Put it on performance mode and sit a little further back from the tv would be my recommendation 😂

Should have been this way at launch, but won’t really solve things. Cuz the game tanks to in the 20s regularly in towns, a 30 frame cap does nothing to solve that.

Yeah if it’s evenly frame paced you get used to it. But right after switching from 60 it looks like a stop motion movie for a little while. Takes a bit for the “movie magic” to kick in.

I’m torn with games like this. Cuz there were people that sank money into it, so I get wanting to give them content. But the other part of me says take the game out behind the shed like Babylon’s Fall and just put it out of its misery.

Yeah Dark Alliance just came out not long ago and it was a f)$king potato. But as usual, big companies run by old farts who have no idea what the f$&k is actually going in down in the valley below them.

The industry as whole, no. But I’d definitely be ok seeing the AAA space get a hard reset. But it probably won’t cuz the suits don’t actually give a f$&k about games and will just keep trend chasing. Which you can’t do, cuz trends change every year or two and AAA games take like 6 or 7 now. Then Warner Bros thinking the lesson from Suicide Squad is that AAA is too volatile, even though they literally just had a massive success with Hogwarts just shows how f$&king obtuse the top brass ...

Messed around with the demo, was just kind of letting you mess around with a few of the vehicles, which was fun. Definitely will keep an eye on it.

Sony is Old Yellering Bend Studio. Damn shame. Days Gone was underrated

Very cool

I see your point. I don’t like it in a full priced game like this, especially when you have things like Spider-Man that have like 30 suits, plus more added later for free. But it doesn’t bother me to the extent that monetizing aspects that interfere with game mechanics does.

Yeah. Aside from the fact SBI was involved, it seems the only real change was changing the protagonist to being black. And that decision wasn’t SBI it was the COO. Who is kind of a trash fire in their own right to be fair. But everyone who’s like “they ruined the game”, I’m not seeing actual evidence of that at the moment. Maybe they did, time will tell. But if you think changing a protagonist from white to black is some huge problem, I’m gunna say the problem is you. I don’t care if I play a...

The whole conversation around SB Inc is about them being 3rd party consultants to make sure games are diverse and inclusive. If you look at the games they’ve been involved in, some are trash, some are amazing. What’s getting old is every comment section is full of people warning people about it. Obviously it’s a big deal to some people, that’s your prerogative. I can’t stand “woke” stuff being forced into media myself, but honestly everyone constantly complaining about it has become even more...

If they’re just cosmetic or TRULY optional, I don’t tend to care. But the problem is things like AC: Odyssey, where they intentionally create the grind to be too slow, or otherwise make the experience unpleasant, then try to sell you a solution to the problem they created. In a full price game. Not sure if that is the case here. But if so, it’s scummy. Especially when you’re also giviny people frame rates in the 20s in town and NPCs drawing in like 3 feet away from the character. Nah.

Perhaps. Just going off of them saying there’s no save reloading and no real fast travel til late in the game. We shall see.

Ha! You mad bro? If a game pulls me in enough and hooks me, I’ll make the time. I’ve got like 250 hrs in Hades most recently. So I’m not as you say a “filthy casual”. Just when a game up front advertises that it has essentially no fast travel and no save reloading, which interprets to a whole lot of backtracking and running around, so it knocks it down my interest list a bit. That’s all. But by all means continue insulting people you don’t know on the internet, I’m sure it brings you intense ...

Oh my god who fu$&ing cares. I find “forced” inclusivity as eye roll inducing as the next person, but you guys nonstop whining about it has become 3x more annoying at this point.
