This is what I call journalistic cuckery.
Bro we’ve made such legit strides in representation in media. It’s not gunna kill people to let us have some eye candy everyone once in a while. When that’s all there was I get complaining about it, but now it’s the exception not the norm. So throw us a bone every once in a while, Jesus. Not to mention, the actress Eve is based on ACTUALLY looks like that. So at that point you just don’t want hot people in the game cuz you’re jealous and won’t admit it.
On consoles at least, can we just put Unreal Engine 5 on hold til next gen, and just get more polished UE4 games like this and Lies of P? Cuz the UE5 games on console so far run like drunken potatoes. I personally can do without Nanite and such for the time being if it’s at the cost of performance. And I doubt I’m alone in that sentiment. People have been asking for better performance for 10 years, and there’s always gunna be some new graphical tech that eats up processing power. Pump the bra...
I want a new Manhunt game. But that will never happen.
My worry is that the Wonder Woman game is gunna be a reskin of Shadow of War and because they’re using the Nemesis system, their going to do the DC equivalent of trying to sell us orcs again. They eventually took the microtransactions out of SoW, but it’s DC, they’ll probably try it again.
If they can’t run it at 60 cuz of using that UE5 feature set, just say that. If you wanna play it off like an “artistic” decision then why did the first Hellblade have a 60FPS mode. Cuz in terms of art and mood it’s the same universe.
I appreciate short games. But $50 for an 8 hour game with very little replay value? We tried this with The Order guys, didn’t work. I’d say $40 would have been smarter. I wish em the best, love Ninja Theory. But I think their under maybe unfair pressure to deliver, this is a AA unique somewhat polarizing type of game, it’s not, by nature, fit for the task of breathing a bunch of life into Xbox’s complete lack of momentum.
Thanks bro
I’m curious to see how much this actually draws. Granted Xbox is starved for quality exclusives, but I don’t think Hellblade as a property will ever have big mass appeal. It’s great but it’s definitely a bit heavy on the artistic psychological end to be a blockbuster I think. Kinda like the game version of The Northman. Hopefully I’m wrong, Xbox needs a win.
That’s good to hear. I actually stopped preordering through amazon because like a year ago it started being that the games would always arrive like 4 days after launch, where they used to be day of. Maybe it’s something to do with my region.
I think only real shift we’ll see on the Sony front, especially after the smash success of Helldivers 2, is that they may not wait nearly as long to port 1st party things to PC, and may make it standard practice to release multiplayer games simultaneously on both.
Hmmm. I already preordered this and am a mid tier PS Plus member. Wonder if they’ll offer me a refund option. Don’t really care if not, small team, don’t mind supporting them. Just curious.
Nice! I think this game kinda fell into the The Order trap, styled over substance, but it’s by no means a bad game. I started it, I will probably wait til these improvements drop to continue. Not sure how much good being on PS Plus will do the devs, but hopefully this brings some more eyes to their work for the future, cuz there’s a lot of talent there.
I played the demo on balanced, and my experience was really smooth, plus it looks great. I honestly didn’t notice a big jump in smoothness switching to performance. Will be curious to see the Digital Foundry at launch. I was on the fence but I’m getting it now, feels really polished so far
Yes.
His first decade and hopefully his last. Dude is pure ham sandwich.
Comes out today or tomorrow I believe. Depending on region. Press got access to it early.
Bad, no. But it was inevitably going to get compared against Ghost of Tsushima, which started out a PS4 game and arguably looks and runs much better than Rise. But Team Ninja is a “second party” studio, and I believe this is their first open world title, so it’s maybe not a fair comparison
I didn’t realize Levine’s new studio was under 2K Games just like Irrational was. What was the point quitting Irrational and then 2K dissolving the studio only for him to open up a smaller studio still under 2K? Why not just downsize Irrational, keep operations going and have the brand recognition. Cuz it’s not like Judas is a departure from his normal style. Must be a story there
Yeah. Doesn’t matter when its numbers are now lower than Skyrim. People would rather play the game you made 13 years ago.
