You would need a $20,000 gaming rig to play gears on a pc right now. It will take PC's anothr 6 months to catch up to this and even then the specs would be beyond the average pc gamers budget. give it 2 years and the release of gears 2 before its on a pc.
The demos are not just ads for developers they are ads for sony which showcase the systems secondary function which is games.
Sony is taking money from the developers then turning around and offering demo downloads as a key feature for their service to justify the huge price tag. If Sony wants to offer demo downloads which are essentially a product offering to the consumer perhaps sony should be paying the developers for the content to prop up their feable attempt at a free marketplace. Its like starbucks charging a columbian to take his coffee beans then selling the coffee for 5 bucks a cup.

Wow another 360 AAA title this is turning into an expensive month for shooter fans like me.
the ps3 isnt sold out yet you can still get one on ebay. Its only sold when its in the hands of the end user not some sleeze bag ebay seller.
The wddvd add on is a good indication of who is buying what hardware for what purpose. anyone who buys this add-on is doing it for the movies. With PS3 and its internal drive you can say there are x number of units in homes but there is no real indication if they are being used for movies or games.

Sony guys are constatnly saying PS3 is better classier etc etc. Anyone thats not blind simply has to look at the games and look at the facts and it is clear the PS3 simply can not compete with the 360. 360 will always be a year further along in game development and PS3 games will always be a year behind. if what the article predicts as far as penetration into next year this could seriously undermine their blu-ray strategy. Someone in Japan is not getting any sleep this year.
all they are saying is that hardcore gamers are the only ones buying the 360 thus the high attach rates. once the hardcore gamers are consoled up then sales will slide on the software front. It makes very grey fuzzy sense but they are merely guessing that the casual gamer wont buy into the M360. I personally bought 10 games since launch because they were great games I wanted to play and I am a passionate casual gamer not a hardcore gamer.
my launch 360 is still going strong and its in a slot in my cabinet with no third party cooler. the problems were caused by brilliant 3rd world factory workers not removing the packaging off the cpu before installing it not a design fault. You knew that but chose to ignore fact for fanboy fantasy. PS3 is a hype machine with mediocre performance and games. I feel sad for your ignorance.

The artical is really bashing sony for doing the same thing six months after MS fixed this issue.
