I play an average of 2 hours per day. Mine lasted just under 2 years. I am on my first refurb.
Let this be a lesson to all. My kid play's LBP and thats it. The rest of the time we play hide and seek, go skiing, build snowmen, etc. A well balanced life is crucial, if you put all your egss in one basket then drop the basket there is going to be a problem.

ps3 is next next gen. Sony sorta skipped last gen. They probably could have squeezed in a PS 2.5 to compete with the 360 before releasing ps3 to compete with xbox 720. you are right, I forgot to add the bit that Monster cable is still a ripoff. the "decent cables" I bought were only $29 as opposed to the $10 cables that were giving me trouble.
believe it or not the cables do make a difference. i had some cheap cables and I am using a hdmi switching receiver. cheap cables gave me banding and drop outs. bought a better cable and presto issues gone. There is such a thing as signal loss over distance on hdmi cables and it seems to be worse on cheap cables. If your going over 15 ft on a cable buy a decent one.
I cant uderstand why anyone wouldnt want to see what their tv's are capable of. I also got HD DVD bought a couple movies, format died, I moved on with a PS3, finally decided to buy a blue ray movie. Looks great on my tv and not only helped justify my PS3 but also the cash spent on the TV. upscaled dvd looks ok on tv's under 40" but after that you can really see the difference. Blueray may be an intermediate step to the next format but it has legs and will do just fine.
Anyone here who has actually played this game knows it is hands down AAA GOTY. Nothing any fanboy can say will change the fact that this is my all time favourite game. Sales mean nothing to me and never have. I hope it sells well simply so there is a sequal or continued support for the game. peace out!
COD5 is Treyarch. Not even close to Infinity Ward for quality. COD3 sucked big time and after COD2 was a major let down. Gameplay Graphics everything just blew.
